Officials said that Chouhan reached the night shelter homes in Sukhaliya and Jhabua Tower areas and asked the homeless people staying there if they were facing any problems at these facilities in terms of food and other things. According to eyewitnesses, the people staying there expressed satisfaction over the arrangement at the shelters. Last month, two temporary employees of the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) were removed from service and a deputy civic commissioner was suspended after Chouhan expressed displeasure over the dumping of homeless people on January 29. On Wednesday this week, IMC Commissioner Pratibha Pal terminated the services of six more temporary employees on the basis of an inquiry report submitted by a three-member committee headed by an additional civic commissioner, the official said.During a visit to the night shelters, the reporters asked the chief minister that although the temporary staff has been dismissed from service, senior officers have been spared. Agency News: New Delhi There was not a single Indian who didn’t shed tears on 14th February 2019 after 40 valiant Indian soldiers were martyred due to a cowardly suicide bomber attack on their convoy by Pakistan based terror group, Jaishe-Mohammad.The convoy of 78 vehicles was moving around 2,500 CRPF personnel from Jammu to Srinagar. NH-44, through which the convoy had to pass was shut down for two days prior to the day of attack. As a result, the convoy was carrying a large number of personnel. The convoy was scheduled to reach its destination before sunset but while they were on their way, a car filled with explosives slammed right into one of the convoy’s vehicle. The devastating attack claimed the lives of 40 soldiers and left many other injured. Adil Ahmad Dar, the 22-year old terrorist who was driving the explosive filled car also died on the spot. Use Social Media Moderately and Don’t Hurt Feelings, Says Venkaiah Naidu Amid Govt’s Row With Twitter Agency News: New Delhi

Agency News: Pune Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar on Friday said the fire that broke out at the Serum Institute of India (SII) in Pune last month, in which five persons died, was caused due to short circuit. Five labourers had died in the fire that broke out in a five-storey building in the SII’s Manjari premises

in Pune on January 21. However, the Covishield vaccine production was not impacted due to the blaze. Mr. Pawar, while addressing the media after the annual general meeting of districts under Pune division ahead of the State Budget, said he had visited the institute after the fire in the presence of senior officials, including the collector.

Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Friday called for moderation in the use of social media to prevent its abuse and avoid controversies so as not to hurt anyone’s feelings. positions would not help in resolving the issue. Referring to the discourse on pulling down and restoring some accounts by Twitter regarding some comments on farmers’ agitation, Naidu stressed the best of way to effectively use social media without offending others is for the users to adopt the principle of moderation in content generation.Asked

what he meant by moderation, the Vice President said extreme positions should not be taken so as not to hurt anyone’s feelings. Asserting that he was against controlling social media, Naidu said such effective platforms should not be misused and abused, and social media should not be allowed to be converted into theatres of war. Wars

are hazardous to all, he said. “Content for social media should be generated in a restrained and responsible manner by keeping the reactions to such content in mind. Such reflection would minimise offensive posts. Provocation should not be the objective. Sharing of views for better perspectives should be,” the Vice President Said.

New Farm Laws Will Push India into Serious Hunger Crisis Once Again

Hunger is the biggest curse in life. It is only when one has experienced it one can realise the agony and humiliation hunger can cause to a person. This can be easily gauged by long queues at the free or cheap food stalls organised by the philanthropist organisations. In the absence of such stalls these people would have missed that particular meal. It is an irony that our country ranks at 102 out of 117 countries in the global hunger index. Despite claims of booming economy India is unable to provide access to food to a large number of people, especially women and children. The situation is worse than ourneighbouring countries in South Asia even though their rate of economic development is lower than us. According to Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) of the UNO estimates in ‘The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World, 2020 report, 189.2 million people are undernourished in India. By this measure 14% of the population is undernourished in India’, this means nearly 20 crore people. Also, 51.4% of women in reproductive age between 15 to 49 years are anaemic; 34.7% of the children aged under five in India are too short for their age; while 20% suffer from wasting, meaning their weight is too low for their height. Malnourished children have a higher risk of death from common childhood illnesses such as diarrhea, pneumonia, and malaria It is necessary that to meet the hunger there is abundant supply of essential food items Including proteins, carbohydrates, fats, minerals and vitamins. To fulfil nutritional needs we need sufficient production at an affordable cost. For this it is important that people have the purchasing capacity to buy these food items. But if we are to believe Prof. Arun Kumar, a noted economist who has said that the Indian economy is not recovering as fast as the government claims and the country's economy may contract 25 per cent in the current financial year. Under such circumstances the problem of feeding the poor and marginal sections is going to get worse. When all the figures showed downward trend, it is the agriculture which sustained the economy of the country in the last year. Hard labour of our farmers has led to self-sufficiency in food grain production. Rice and wheat form the staple diet for our population. Much of it comes from Punjab and Haryana. Punjab state having just 1.53 per cent of the total geographical area of India, produced about 17 % of wheat, 11 % of rice and 6 per cent of cotton in the country. As a result, the state has been contributing up to 78 per cent of wheat and 60 per cent rice to the central pool of food reserve. Haryana is the 4th largest producerof wheat in the country with approximately 12 per cent of total wheat production.Realising that many people in the country are not getting sufficient food, the National FoodSecurity Act 2013 (also 'Right to Food Act') was passed in the Parliament which aims to provide subsidized food grains to approximately two thirds of India's 1.38 billion people through various schemes. The farmers who are the producers of the agricultural productsare now feeling threatened of losing their livelihood. They are agitating for their demandsagainst the three farm related laws recently passed by the parliament. The 3 laws may be adeath knell for the farmers of our country and the agriculture may enter into a new dimensionunder the corporate where the farmers will have little say in the decision making.Presently the farmers decide what to produce. But when the new laws enter into force theywill lose this decision making power. They will have to produce what the corporate withwhom they enter into contract asks them to do. This will also lead to environmentaldegradation and loss of fertility of soil in the long run. We have the history of farming ofIndigo forced upon the farmers by the British against which Gandhi fought a sustained battlesuccessfully. There is a real danger that the corporate will look forward to production ofexport oriented agricultural produce for more profits. This will deprive the domestic consumerof the basic food needs. The clause to permit stock/ hoard unlimited amount of grains - Kapilkumar M. Hirpara will lead to increase.

Second round of Covid-19 vaccination drive begins in India Over 1.91 lakh healthcare workers who had received Covid-19 jab on January 16 need to take the second shot within two weeks. Agency News: New Delhi The process to give second shot of the Covid-19 vaccine began in India on Saturday as the first batch of those who received the jab on January 16 get their booster shot today. Agency News: New Delhi The Ministry of Defence on Friday issued a strong statment rejecting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s allegeation that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has “ceded” Indian territory to the Chinese. Gandhi attacked the government over its agreement with China on disengagement of troops in eastern Ladakh. His attack on the government came a day after Defence Minister Rajnath Singh assured Parliament that India has not conceded anything in the sustained talks with China and it will not allow even an inch of its territory to be taken away by anyone.

The Congress also termed the defence ministry’s statement as “Operation cover-up to uncover the conspiratorial mask of a weak-kneed leadership of India”, as it pointed out gaping holes in the version. Ministry of Defence has taken note of some misinformed and misleading comments being amplified in the media and on social media regarding the disengagement currently underway at Pangong Tso. At the outset, Ministry of Defence reiterates that the factual position has already been clearly communicated by the Raksha Mantri in his statements to both Houses of the Parliament. However, it is necessary to set the record straight and counter certain

instances of wrongly understood information being amplified in media and social media. The assertion that Indian territory is upto Finger 4 is categorically false. The territory of India is as depicted by the map of India and includes more than 43,000 sq km currently under illegal occupation of China since 1962.Even the Line of Actual Control (LAC), as

the Chinese side, east of Finger 8. The current agreement provides for cessation of forward deployment by both sides and continued deployment at these permanent posts.India has not conceded any territory as a result of this agreement. On the contrary, it has enforced observance and respect for LAC and prevented any unilateral change in the status quo. Raksha Mantri’s statement also made clear that there are outstanding problems to be addressed, including at Hot Springs, Gogra and Depsang. The outstanding issues are to be taken up within 48 hrs of the completion of the Pangong Tso disengagement. The effective safeguarding of our national interest and territory in the Eastern Ladakh sector has taken place because the Government has reposed full faith in the capabilities of the armed forces. Those who doubt the achievements made possible by the sacrifices of our military personnel are actually disrespecting them.

All these years she stood with me in all situation of life. Then how could I let her fight this problem alone? Therefore I have decided to donate her one of my kidneys. I am ready to live my life with the support of one kidney. Call it my love or my duty; she has been the most lovable and caring member of the family. Because of her fight with kidney issues and struggling to live a normal life, every family member got disturbed. So I quickly decided to help my wife by donating one of my kidneys. I want to conclude by saying that life is indeed in God’s hands but if we can help someone in alleviating their sorrow, we must do so. It is our duty to help those in need. God has given us two kidneys but we can live life with support of one kidney, so if you love someone more than anything, I urge you all to take a decision and express your love by eliminating their pain and sorrow and give them the chance to Live A Life Full”.
