‘If you raise temptation, young guys have nowhere to go’, Imran Khan’s Barely two months after Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan’s comments on sexual violence drew severe backlash, he again invited trouble by suggesting that avoiding “temptation in society” is the way to prevent sexual violence against women. In April, during a question and answer session with the public, Khan had said that the rise in sexual violence in Pakistan, particularly against children, was caused due to “fahashi” (vulgarity). Defending his earlier remarks, Khan in an interview with Axios’ on HBO said, “...I said the concept of ‘purdah’. Avoid temptation in society. We don’t have discos here, we don’t have nightclubs.

The Union health ministry on Monday said that more than 69 lakh vaccine doses were administered across the country till evening on the first day of the revised guidelines for Covid-19 vaccination coming into effect. It is the highest number of doses administered in a day since the vaccination drive started on January 16. India’s cumulative Covid-19 vaccination coverage is now nearly 28.7 crore.”Central Government is beginning the ‘Free Vaccination For All campaign’ for every Indian from today. The biggest beneficiary of this phase of India’s vaccination drive shall be the poor, the middle class and the youth of the country. All of us should pledge to get ourselves vaccinated. partly being carried out by the states since May 1. The Centre’s new policy came days after Supreme Court slammed the ongoing vaccination drive for the 18-44 age group and called it “arbitrary and irrational.”According to the revised guidelines, vaccine doses provided free of cost by the Centre will be allocated to states and UTs based on criteria such as population, disease burden and the progress of vaccination, and all above the age of 18 will be eligible for the free jabs. The Centre will now procure 75 percent of the vaccines being produced by the manufacturers in the country. Earlier, the Centre allowed states and private hospitals

to procure 50 percent of the vaccines following demands for decentralisation of the process. In order to incentivise production by vaccine manufacturers and encourage new vaccines, domestic vaccine manufacturers are given the option to also provide vaccines directly to private hospitals. This would be restricted to 25 percent of their monthly production, the new guidelines stated.Within the population group of citizens more than 18 years of age, states and UTs may decide their own prioritisation factoring in the vaccine supply schedule, the revised guidelines issued by the health ministry stated. The states and UTs would aggregate the demand of private hospitals keeping in view equitable distribution between large and small private hospitals and regional balance, they said. The Covid vaccination in the

country commenced with the vaccination for all healthcare workers from January 16.The programme was expanded with time to include vaccination of frontline workers, citizens more than 60 years of age, citizens more than 45 years of age and eventually citizens more than 18 years of age.Under the National Covid Vaccination Program, from January 16 to April 30, 100 percent of vaccine doses were procured by the Government of India and provided free of cost to state governments.State Governments were, in turn, asked to administer vaccination free of cost to defined priority groups. To increase the pace of vaccination, participation of private hospitals was also enlisted where individuals could also choose to get vaccinated at a prescribed rate, the ministry said.In response to the suggestions.

BJP Still Considers Rahul Gandhi As Biggest Threat To Sangh Parivar

It is obvious that the secular camp is hoping against hope to revive the moribund Congressso that it can take on the BJP. Some in the group are also banking on Rahul Gandhi to shedhis part-timer tag and take to the field in real earnest. The validity of both the objectives cannot be doubted. For a start, the Congress’s position as the only pan-Indian opposition party at the nationaldespite its patent weaknesses is undeniable. The 136-year-old formerly Grand Old Party is still the only one among the non-BJP parties whose influence stretches across the land despite its patchy nature. From Punjab and Rajasthan in the north to Maharashtra in the west to Chhattisgarh incentral India to Tamil Nadu in the south, the Congress can boast of its presence in these provinces unlike any other party on the Left-Liberal side of the political space. All the others are confined to their respective states whether it is the Trinamool Congress (West Bengal) or the Nationalist Congress Party (Maharashtra) or the DMK (Tamil Nadu) or the CPI-M (Kerala) or the Aam Admi Party (Delhi) or the Rashtriya Janata Dal (Bihar) or theSamajwadi Party (U.P). Other regional parties like the Tel angana Rashtra Samithi, the YSR Congress, the Biju Janata Dal and the Bahujan Samaj Party are outside the Left-Liberal fold because of their overt or covert saffron connections. It is understandable, therefore, why the Congress remains the fulcrum of the secular group. And why as a possible future president of the party, Rahul Gandhi remains indispensable as a leader if only because there is no one else with a pan-Indian image. Notwithstanding his laidback attitude, the BJP appears to have realized that Rahul cannot be ignored because he poses a kind of an incipient threat. What is this threat? It is the possibility of a realization among the people that for all the charge of being a part-timer, Rahul is essentially a decent individual, vastly different from the arrogant, vindictive, scheming and unscrupulous top honchos of the Hindutva brotherhood whose guiding motto is “jail not bail” so far as its political opponents are concerned. It is because Rahul is a gentleman and not a bully that the BJP wastes no time to traduce him as Pappu or a juvenile delinquent, as Union minister Smriti Irani called him, lest his personable qualities expose the crude pugnacity of his perennial critics. This is why Nirmala Sitharaman lost her cool when Rahul was portrayed sitting on a pavement with migrant labourers because she knew that the snooty, self-aggrandizingmembers of her party will never deign to converse on familiar terms with ordinary people andthat their conceited attitude may be widely noted to the BJP’s detriment. Edited, Printed & Published by Nitya Chakraborty on behalf of Panchsheel News Pvt. Ltd.at D-34, Gulmohar Park, New Delhi110049This is not to deny that Rahul has his disadvantages. The most grievous of them is that heacks the killer instinct which the BJP has in oodles. He also appears to be unconcernedbout letting restive Congressmen look for greener pastures or formulating clear guidelines for the party to follow. So, a Jitin Prasada can desert what he thinks is a sinking ship or Nana Patole can raisedoubts about the viability of the ruling alliance in Maharashtra to the BJP’s delight. Thiscarefree attitude was on display when Rahul played with his dog when Himanta BiswaSarma was voicing his dissatisfaction with the Congress leadership in Assam before jumpingship. Although Rahul had once said that he tends to be more stern than his mother, this strictnessis less in evidence than a kind of laissezfaire attitude towards organizational discipline.Such leniency was a part of the Congress’s working style as an umbrella party which onceaccommodated everyone from E.M.S. Namboodiripad on the Left to K.B. Hedgewar on theRight.Except during the Emergency, such an easygoing mode of politics marked India’s public lifewhen Jawaharlal Nehru could single out Atal Behari Vajpayee as a future prime minister.Although bureaucrats were on their way to becoming caged parrots, professionalism had no yet been totally extinguished. The scene is different today with the government even threatening to act as the super-censor of films unlike in any other democracy and a poem not appreciated by the Hindutvabrigade being branded as the work of literary Naxals. The Congress and other “secular”parties can no longer afford, therefore, to pursue the kind of relaxed politics practised in thepre-2014 period. Since the Congress, willy nilly, cannot but be the pivot of opposition politics at the national level, Rahul will have to brace himself for a more assertive role without compromising his gentlemanly ways which are his answer to a - Kapilkumar M. Hirpara crass adversary.

India pacer Jasprit Bumrah heaped praise on off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, calling him ‘one of the greats of the game.’ Ashwin gave India their first breakthrough on Day 3 of the World Test Championship (WTC) final against New Zealand at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton. Ashwin broke New Zealand’s 70-run opening stand by getting Tom Latham out with a well-tossed up delivery, inviting the left-hander to play the drive, which he did and scooped in in the air to India captain Virat Kohli, who

I think he really applied himself, so credit to him for just going through the grind.”The thing about Rahane is that there is not one particular mode of dismissal for him

Tribal Gujarat pays blood money in EMIs as Covid hits incomes Sunvilla News: AMIRGADH Corpses dangle from trees as dramatic reminders that the aggrieved want justice. Blood money is paid by the offenders called out by this age-old tradition of ‘Chadotaru’ (roughly translated, ‘hang ing’) followed by the tribal people of northeastern Gujarat. But Covid and the resultant hit on incomes have necessitated a concession — tribal elders have authorized the collection of blood money in easy monthly installments. The ‘panch’ (committee of elders) decided that allowing EMIs was a prudent move since it is impossible amid the pandemic and financial crisis to recover large sums from the offenders in one go.These sums can go up to Rs 8 lakh in cases of suspicious deaths. The Chadotaru amount is distributed among the family members of the victims.About five years ago, Chadotaru involved revenge.
