In the novel, Winston Smith is in-charge of adjusting the past to the new narratives offered by the fictitious Party that rules over the imaginary state of Oceania. The truth is tightly controlled in Oceania. Unlike Orwell’s Winston, who works for the Ministry of Truth, OpenAI’s ChatGPT — trained on machine-learning dataset — is likely to create trouble for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) rather than solve the problem of ever-shifting narratives. The ChatGPT chatbot, created by Microsoftbacked artificial intelligence company OpenAI, has created a buzz –and panic – around the potential of AI to shake up industries that rely on creating text-based content. In 2019, Microsoft invested $1 billion in OpenAI, which put the company ahead of its Silicon Valley rival, Google. Just like the rest of the world, China is interested in capturing the potential of ChatGPT which can create uncensored content. The ChatGPT programme isn’t available in China because a foreign phone number is required to access the programme, but some software developers have found a way around it. Beijing’s initial response to ChatGPT was to ban access to the service, which WeChat’s mini programme facilitated. That doesn’t mean the government and the companies have decided against developing the Chinese version of ChatGPT completely. China’s internet giant Baidu has struggled with past iterations of a chatbot called PLATO-XL, which couldn’t answer basic questions such as when is Jack Ma’s birthday.

Champions League: Away form haunts City in Leipzig test

Agency News : Manchester

Pep Guardiola’s last visit to the Red Bull Arena to play RB Leipzig wasn’t a comfortable one as Manchester City had lost that Champions League group stage game last season 1-2. Guardiola and City will be more alert this time as they travel to Germany to take on the same opponents in their first knockout match of this edition of the Champions League on Wednesday. City have had a mixed build-up before the game. While they were on a high after beating Premier League title rivals Arsenal 3-1, their confidence stumbled three days later as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest on Saturday after missing chances galore. What would be worrying Guardiola further is the fact that they have now failed to win four of their last five away matches in all competitions.

City would look to Erling Haaland for goals. The striker has hit six goals in four previous appearances against Leipzig, scoring three separate braces against them while playing for his previous club, Borussia Dortmund. Haaland has averaged a goal every 60 minutes across his four appearances versus Leipzig. Also key for City will be Jack Grealish. The England winger has become Guardiola’s g o - t o g u y. Grealish has started in City’s last seven games in the Premier League and the last nine games in all competitions.

Jackky Bhagnani wants to make Bade Miyan Chote Miyan India’s ‘Hobbs & Shaw, Fast & Furious’

With his upcoming home production “Bade Miyan Chote Miyan”, producer Jackky Bhagnani says the aim is to develop a movie which can stand up to Hollywood’s hit “Fast & Furious” franchise.Jackky is producing the movie, starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, through his banner Pooja Entertainment, which was founded by his father, producer Vashu Bhagnani. ”When I was made the creative head of the company four years ago, I sat down and made a list of the 40 IPs that my father created, and thought how to take the legacy forward, not just by using them, but by completely rebranding them,” Jackky told in an interview.“When it comes to ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, I thought, I want to make India’s Hobbs & Shaw, I want to make India’s ‘Fast & Furious’ – large scale action, with comedy amongst the characters rather than in the plot,” he added. The film, billed as an action spectacle, is directed by Ali Abbas Zafar and also features Prithviraj Sukumaran as the antagonist. For the film, Jackky said he approached Akshay first. The two had earlier collaborated on movies “Bell Bottom” (2021) and “Cuttputlli” (2022).“I went to Akshay sir, first, and he loved it. He asked me, ‘Whom will I get in board as Chote Miyan?’ I replied, ‘Tiger,’ and he said, ‘Wonderful.’ Once the actors were on board, I went to Ali Abbas Zafar, who’s one of the biggest directors in the country,” the producer revealed. “I’m very excited and nervous on set. I want to explode cars, planes, because I feel technology has come so far and as the creative face of the company, this is the initiative I’m trying to take,” the 38-year old producer said. Talking about his father Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky said he totally supports him in his every creative decision. “Creatively, my father was on board, but financially, he’s a taskmaster, a numbers guy. He came up from selling sarees on footpaths... So that’s a constant challenge with numbers but creatively, he gives me full liberty and support,” he added. Jackky, along with his actor-girlfriend Rakul Preet Singh, recently walked the ramp as showstoppers for Lakshmi Manchu’a ‘Teach for Change’ fashion show.Asked about when they plan to get married, Rakul said “there’s a lot of time” before they make that decision.

Pathaan makes history by grabbing 46% of box office share in Indian cinema in January: Ormax report

After a remarkable 2022, which announced the resurgence of Indian cinema on the big screen following the pandemic, 2023 has started off on a promising note, as per The India Box Office Report, prepared by Ormax Media. With a gross collection of Rs 1,389 crore, January proved to be the best month at the box office since April 2022. While different language industries use different parameters for assessing box office numbers, Ormax’s report adopts Gross Box Office as the unified measurement. Under this, a film’s collection is always attributed to the month of its release, even if the film goes on to produce more or better numbers in the subsequent months. For films released in multiple languages, box office numbers reflect the contribution of such films to all the corresponding languages. By now it is no secret that Siddharth Anand-directed Pathaan has been smashing box office records left, right and centre, with Shah Rukh Khan’s return to the theatres, ably supported by John Abraham, Deepika Padukone and a superstar cameo, already becoming the highest-grossing Hindi film of all time. While the action thriller has surpassed Rs 1,000 crore in its worldwide collection, its domestic tally in January rose to Rs 643 crore, a feat that will be hard to match for subsequent releases this year. This meant that Pathaan alone took home 46 per cent of the box office share in the opening month of 2023, a

figure that has virtually no parallel in modern box office history. Following Pathaan’s runaway success was Tamil action drama Varisu, starring Vijay Rajendran and Rashmika Mandanna, which ended January with an impressive Rs 213 crore. In third place, with Rs 190 crore in the kitty,

RR Kabel invites industry leaders to throw light on the importance of electrical fire safety and quality wires

Sunvilla News: Ahmedabad

The leading cause of fire accidents in India is electrical short circuits, which frequently result from poor-quality wires and cables. According to ASCI data, in the past decade, electrocution accounted for about 73% of the total human deaths, which includes electrical fires for about 11%, and lightning for about 16%. Smoke inhalation kills more people during a fire outbreak than the fire itself, which is a lesser-known fact. To address these serious risks, Mr. Shreegopal Kabra, Managing Director, RR Kabel, and past president, IEEMA; accompanied by industry leaders such as Vipul Ray, MD, Elmex Group, and Immediate past President, IEEMA, and S. Gopa Kumar, MD, Cape Electric, and Member,

NFE (National Federation of Engineers for Electrical Safety), highlighted the lack of priority given to high-quality wires and cables in India.Industry leaders believe that it is critical to educate people and authorities about the importance of electrical fire safety in both existing and new buildings. Organizations must quickly ascertain whether they are fire-safe. At the top management level, it is essential to implement systemic changes in how spaces are created that ensure a firesafe environment. For residential communities.
