He’s also the central figure in his own understanding of what this huge change over the past year has been about—new government, new mandate, a completely new set of people and priorities,” said Sevanti Ninan, a media critic and author and editor of the media tracking website, thehoot.org. Such is the obsession with the man that even The Economist, a weekly news magazine which took a strong stand on Modi last year, seems to have given in. It put him on the cover this week, describing him as India’s one man band. To its credit, it acknowledged the fact. “This newspaper chose not to back Mr Modi in last year’s elections because of his record on handling religious strife. Though he fails to control the Hindu extremist bullies who back him, we are happy that our fears of grave communal violence have so far not been realised”, read a quote from its cover story Earlier this month, Time, an American weekly magazine, sat him down for an interview, seeking his views on everything from his dreams for India to the global war on terrorism and what personally moves him. Those who are looking for a rerun of the Modi Miraculous of his campaign days are likely to be disappointed”. Grim words, but it was still Modi on the cover. “It’s about scrutiny and celebration. The media brought him in with huge hype a year ago and the expectation hasn’t abated. The media has a lot of grist for its mill. In the fitness of things, the media has to make a lot of this anniversary because he came in with a huge mandate,” added Ninan. But for the most part, the media just hung on to his every word. One gets kind of involved with Jeet’s travails as we are told of her and her mother’s (Vineeta Mallick) helplessness and desperation through flashes of flashbacks. But soon Pargat is kidnapped and it is up to Jeet to bring her brother back. After this point, the film’s script loses its way and gets into an action mode, with Jeet putting her judo karate skills to good use.

Out of these, Class X recorded the highest number among all while Class XII Science stream reported none. As per rules, every dummy candidate case is registered with the police.
Despite a deterrent of a police case, as many as 21 dummy cases from Class X have come up for hearing at the GSHSEB headquarters in Gandhinagar. Among these, there is no woman candidate who was caught using a dummy candidate. While, in Class XII General stream, 19 dummy cases were reported, out of which three were women candidates.

The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has rejected the review application of farmers from Mahuva in Bhavnagar against the Nirma Ltd’s cement plant. The farmers through Shree Mahuva Bandhara Khetiwadi Pariyavaran Bachav Samittee had approached the Green Tribunal seeking review of an order passed in January where NGT had set aside the order of the ministry of environment and forests (MoEF) revoking the environment clearance to Nirma’s cement plant. Nirma has proposed to construct 1.91 MTPA (million tonne per annum) cement plant. The farmers from villages in Mahuva had opposed the cement plant on the
grounds that it was being constructed on Samdiyala Bandhara a water body and could cause irreparable environmental damage. Nirma had argued that the land in question was wasteland as per government revenue records and the plant did not pose and threat to the environment. After a three-year-long legal battle in Gujarat High Court and Supreme Court, the MoEF in December 2011 had revoked the EC to the Nirma plant. This order
