Agency News: Mumbai The Maharashtra government told the Bombay High Court on Tuesday that it would amicably resolve with CBI the issue of sharing documents with the central agency over its probe against former state home minister Anil Deshmukh. The state government had earlier claimed the documents sought by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) did not have any relevance to the agency’s probe into allegations of corruption against NCP leader Deshmukh. Agency News: New Delhi The Indian Army on Tuesday accepted the delivery of the first batch of multi-mode hand grenades, manufactured by a private sector firm, at a ceremony held in Nagpur. The move is expected to provide thrust to the goal of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ (Self-Reliant India), the defence ministry said in a statement. The ministry signed a contract with Nagpur-based private firm Economic Explosives Ltd (EEL) last October for supplying 1 million multimode hand grenades to the army. These will replace a World War II vintage hand
grenade design being used by the army. The EEL is expected to execute the order by October 2022. The multimode hand grenade has been designed by the Chandigarhbased Terminal Ballistic Research Laboratories (TBRL) - a Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) laboratory - and produced by the EEL. The ceremony at Nagpur was attended by defence minister Rajnath Singh, army chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane and DRDO chief G Satheesh Reddy. The Biden administration is under pressure from some allies to keep US forces in the country.
Encounter in Jammu and Kashmir’s Sopore, three militants killed Agency News: Srinagar Three militants were killed in an encounter with security forces in Sopore area of Baramulla district in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, police said. Security forces launched a cordon and search operation at Pethseer in Sopore area late on Monday night following information about presence of militants there, a police official said. He said the search operation turned into an encounter in the early hours of Tuesday as the ultras opened fire. Three ultras were killed in the exchange of fire with security forces, the official said, adding the identity and group affiliation of the slain were being ascertained. Meanwhile, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir zone, Vijay Kumar said the total number of ultras killed in this year has crossed 100.

SUNVILLA SAMACHAR Sonia Gandhi-Led Opposition Front Has To Cross Many More Hurdles
Congress President Sonia Gandhi has begun new efforts to unite the opposition. She did so in 2004 and formed a coalition government (UPA) fighting against the mighty Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee when she was considered almost a novice in politics. She did so when the BJP was on a high with its ndia shining campaign. The idea of building an opposition coalition is not new. The country has seen coalitions like the Janata Party (1977), National Front (1989), United Front (1996-1998) and NDA earlier whenever the voters were dissatisfied with the government. After defeating Vajpayee, sh again surprised everyone by nominating Dr Manmohan Singh as Prime Minister, who led the country for ten years until 2014. Sonia realized that Congress had become too weak to take on the Vajpayee led-NDA on its own. She, therefore, cobbled up an alliance of secular parties to take on the BJP led NDA in the 2004 elections. But, before that, in the Shimla conclave, Sonia Gandhi successfully prepared the party for a coalition. It was not easy to convince regional satraps like Yadavs and Paswan to come under the Congress umbrella. They grew up in the anti-Congress atmosphere in their entire political career. However, the situation is different now. Congress is no match to the BJP. While Sonia remained the Congress President for 19 years, she also passed on the baton to her son Rahul Gandhi. However, since 2014, she has taken a back seat. Neither the mother nor the son have paid attention to the organizational reforms to the extent it was required . The demoralized opposition has been trying to take on the BJP. This is because it is divided Many regional leaders like Sharad Pawar and Mamata Banerjee tried their hands. Still, none of them took off because Congress remained disinterested. However, last week, Sonia took the initiative to organize a virtual meeting consisting of 19 opposition parties, including several non-BJP chief ministers. Those who participated include NCP Sharad Pawar, TMC Mamata Banerjee, Shiv Sena Uddhav Thackeray, and DMK M K Stalin. The absentees were AamAadmi Party, Biju Janata Dal, Telugu Desam Party, YSR Congress, and Telangana Rashtra Samiti. All these parties have kept equidistant from both Congress and BJP. Sonia cryptic speech was full of optimism and pep talk. She emphasized that We all have our compulsions, but clearly, a time has come when the interests of our nation demand that we rise above them." She assured that "The Congress will not be found wanting while working towards this goal, to reaffirm our individual and collective resolve". Sonia maintained that the ultimate goal is to uproot the BJP government in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The meeting announced a 11 point common agenda, unlike earlier efforts. The plan covers various issues, including speeding up mass vaccination; free food kits for the poor; reduction in fuel and cooking oil prices; repeal of the three controversial farm laws; job guarantee for 200 days under MGNREGA with doubling of wages, early reopening of educational institutions and a Supreme Court-monitored probe into the use of Pegasus spyware for surveillance. The prophets of doom are already predicting that the current unity move will be a non - starter as it is a heterogeneous coalition packed with egoistic regional satraps. One of the biggest challenges for such a Front will be the leadership question. While Sonia is ok with the senior leaders but not Rahul Gandhi With age not on her side and her health issues, Sonia will have too much on her plate. In 2004 she could do it because she was younger and had good advisers. Now the old guard has almost disappeared as most have become old, and some died. The second challenge will be to get those remaining opposition parties like the BJD, TRS and YSR Congress into the coalition. Their support might be needed to throw out BJP from power after the 2024 Lok Sabha poll.But before all that, the opposition parties have to keep their flock together. Congress needs a new plan, new leadership, new narrative and dedication. The group of 23 rebel leaders in Congress is convinced that the first priority is strengthening the party. For this, the party should be enthused, and the continuous erosion needs - Kapilkumar M. Hirpara to be checked. Rahul Gandhi.

Agency News: Thiruvananthapuram Former Kerala DGP Siby Mathews was today granted anticipatory bail by a court here in the case registered by the CBI in connection with the illegal arrest of former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan and two Maldives nationals in a 1994 spying case. The relief was granted by Principal District and Sessions Judge P Krishnakumar, advocate V Ajakumar, who appeared for Siby Mathews, confirmed. The order was also confirmed by advocate Prasad Gandhi, who had appeared for the two Maldivian nationals, Mariyam Rasheeda and Fouziyya Hasan. The detailed order is awaited.

Continuing with these efforts, Western Railway has recently commissioned two Automatic Coach Washing Plants (ACWP) at Bandra Terminus Coaching Depot and Gandhidham Coaching Depot. The plant helps in minimizing time, water and man power to complete the washing process of entire train effectively. Due to the automation and efficiency of these plants, it is expected that this will lead to savings of approx. Rs.50 lakhs per
year in external washing cost for the depots. According to a press release issued by Shri Sumit Thakur – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, the ACWP at Bandra Terminus Coaching Depot & Gandhidham Coaching Depot have automatic tracking of train movement and washing speed of 5-8 kmph. It requires maximum 60 ltr per coach of fresh water, which is 80% less as compared to manual washing. The fresh water intake of the plant is only 20% and 80% of water used for washing is recycled in each washing cycle. The plants are extremely efficient in utilization of time & water since the end-to-end cycle time for cleaning a 24-coach train is merely 10 minutes.

India today announced its collaboration with Invest India, Government of India’s national investment promotion and facilitation agency, to support tech startups in the country. As part of this collaboration, the Microsoft for Startups program will work closely with Accelerating Growth of New Innovations ( AGNIi Mission ), a program of the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India and a Mission under the Prime Minister Science, Technology, and Innovation Advisory Council (PMSTIAC) that convenes India finest technologies with their potential adopters. Housed and executed by Invest India, AGNIi Mission helps startups become enterprise ready. With support from AGNIi Mission, Microsoft has onboarded 11 startups into the Microsoft for Startups program.

Sunvilla News: Ahmedabad According to a press release issued by Shri Sumit Thakur - Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, on 21st August 2021, GM undertook surprise inspection of Train No. 02946 Okha – Mumbai Superfast Special train and during the journey, also interacted with passengers from all classes. He discussed with the passengers about the problems faced by them during the train journey
and also took feedback about the cleanliness in the coaches, toilets, regarding the behaviour of the railway employees, etc. Several passengers mentioned that there has been a tremendous change in the experience of travelling in trains over the years. Passenger amenities have improved significantly, especially cleanliness inside trains, toilets, AC cooling, etc. While interacting with the passengers, some suggestions related to improvement in provision of wheelchair were given, taking cognizance of the suggestion, Shri Kansal immediately resolved the same and detailed instructions were given. Shri Kansal also informed, in case of any grievances during train journey, passengers may call the Helpline no. 139 for immediate redressal. He further added.
