With a major diplomatic crisis looming between two states on opposing sides in the Syria conflict, Russia angrily insisted its jet never had entered Turkish airspace. The shooting down of the plane was “a stab in the back committed by accomplices of terrorists,”

Putin said at a meeting with Jordanian King Abdullah II in Moscow. Putin said the plane fell in Syrian territory four kilometres from the border with Turkey and “did not in any way threaten Turkey”. “Today’s tragic event will have serious consequences for Russian-Turkish relations,” he warned. The Turkish army said the downing took place over the Yayladagi district of Turkey’s Hatay province on the border with Syria. “The plane violated Turkish air space 10 times in five minutes despite warnings,” the army said in a statement, adding it was shot down at 1234 IST “according to the rules of engagement”.

NATO member Turkey on Tuesday shot down a Russian war plane on the Syrian border, an act President Vladimir Putin said would have “serious consequences” for ties between two key protagonists in the Syria war. The Turkish army said the plane was shot down by two F-16s after violating Turkish airspace 10 times within a five- minute period, an account challenged by Moscow which said it was over Syria. Turkish television pictures showed the jet exploding and crashing in a ball of flames into a Syrian mountain. How ISIS mistreats Indian jihadis..?

Indians who joined the terror outfit Islamic State, also known as ISIS, have been subjected to discrimination, used as foot soldiers ready to be sacrificed at any given point and always viewed with distrust by the top brass who are mostly Arabs. A report submitted to the union home ministry by central intelligence agencies said recruits from India, Pakistan and Bangladesh are considered inferior and the practice of Islam in these countries is thought to be apostate. South Asians are also more likely to be killed in battle since they are used as foot soldiers while Arabs are preferred for the officer grade and given better salaries and accommodation, the report said. According to the report, second-class treatment to Indians and South Asians is apparent in every aspect of life as a jihadi and even the lure of “jihadi brides” to attract fighters from all over the world is a privilege reserved for a select few. “There is a priority list wherein the senior commanders and ethnic Arab fighters get the first preference. The foreign terrorist fighters from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Nigeria and Sudan are mostly denied jihadi brides since they are considered ethnically inferior to breed the next generation of jihadi fighters in ISIS territory.” After getting inputs from their counterparts in countries neighbouring Iraq and Syria, a detailed analysis of Indians who joined ISIS has been done by Indian intelligence agencies. It is now known that six of the 23 Indians who joined the terror group were killed. While two have returned, 15 are still part of the ISIS. Kalyan-based youth Areeb Majeed and a young girl living in Qatar are two Indian recruits who succeeded in returning from the battlefronts of ISIS after facing tough times there. The report attributed the high casualty among Indians and South Asians to the fact that they are tricked into suicide attacks. “Usually they are given a vehicle loaded with explosives and asked to go near a targeted destination and call a person on a certain number, who would purportedly come and meet them to explain the mission. However, as soon as the number is dialled, the car explodes due to a pre-set mechanism aimed at destroying a specific target.” The intelligence report also suggests that there is a disproportionately high level of casualties among the South Asian and African foreign terrorist fighters. “The Arab fighters with better battle experience are mostly positioned behind these fighters and hence their casualties are proportionally less in terms of their total numbers. This explains why so many Indians from a small Indian contingent have died,” it said.

Mercedes-AMG GT S launched in India; priced at Rs 2.40 crore

Agency | Nagpur Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin’s stupendous performances over the past year is a result of getting “back to basics without trying too much”, feels his Test captain Virat Kohli. Ashwin was instrumental in India winning the Test series in Sri Lanka and is also jointly leading the wicket-takers’ list with 12 victims to his credit. “If you see

his bowling in the last six months he has got back to basics, he has not tried too much with the ball. You hardly see the carrom ball which means he is relying on his natural bowling action and his stock ball,” Kohli said at the pre-match press conference ahead of the third Test. “He (Ashwin) is flighting the ball and is giving more revs (revolutions) to the ball. He has

got stronger fitness-wise as well, which is helping his bowling big time because he is able to put the force behind the ball and get more turn and bounce off the pitches which other bowlers are finding difficult,” Kohli waxed eloquent about the Tamil Nadu tweaker. “Obviously he is using his skill combined with fitness and he is just becoming a better bowler every day.

Google Made A Star Trek Communicator

Having lost thrice in their last four matches and the chances of advancing to the play-offs hanging by a thread, Chennaiyin FC take on a confident Delhi Dynamos in their mustwin game of the Indian Super League football on Tuesday. Chennaiyin are sixth on the table with 13 points from 11 matches and with just three matches left to be played, Marco Materazzi’s side now face an uphill task to qualify for the final-four. Delhi are comfortably placed at third with 18 points from 10 matches and a win tomorrow will assure them of a place in the play-offs. Chennaiyin lost three matches on the trot in the second phase before a

convincing 4-1 win over Kerala Blasters in their last match. Chennaiyin have Stiven Mendoza as the leading goal-scorer in the tournament with nine goals, which includes two hat-tricks. Yet, last year’s semi-finalists Chennaiyin have blown hot and cold this season and they have a lot of ground to cover in the remaining matches. The home side will also be without two

foreign players as Manuele Blasi and Alessandro Potenza have picked up their fourth yellow cards in the last match and will remain suspended for tomorrow’s game. Delhi, on the other hand, are among the more consistent teams this season and they would go into the match with a lot of confidence as they have remained unbeaten in the last five matches.

The answers to questions posed would be broadcast through its own speaker, or a set of connected headphones. In-form opener Murali Vijay feels the intense pressure put on the visiting South African batsmen by India’s spin bowlers has paved the way for the home team’s domination of the four-match Test series so far. “To be honest, the pressure we have put on the batsman, it was incredible to watch from

the close-in. It is a cat mouse game, everybody trying to come one up and the bowler trying to come up on the batsman and it has been going well for us,” Vijay told reporters at the VCA Stadium in Jamtha on Monday ahead of the third match of the four-Test rubber commencing on November 25. “It is the pure pressure we put on them and

obviously the same vice versa. When we go out to bat we have our plans and they are also putting immense pressure. So it is a good contest to be a part of,” the opener remarked further about the series in which India are 1-0 up after winning the opener at Mohali that was followed by the rain-hit, drawn second game at Bengaluru.

In a day, election commission ‘brings down’ number of voters by 53,300 Sunvilla News | Ahmedabad

The data of registered voters shared by the State Election Commission on two consecutive days show a variation of 53,312 voters in the six municipal corporations that went to polls on Sunday. On the eve of the elections, i.e. on Saturday, the data shared by the SEC showed there were 95,90,552 registered voters in the six municipal corporations going to polls on Sunday. After the polls, the Commission issued another release late Sunday night putting the total number of voters at 95,37,240. The biggest discrepancy in data was seen in the voting figures of Ahmedabad where 1,03,818 voters were less than the earlier figure. On Saturday, the SEC stated

Explaining this, the SEC officials in Gandhinagar said the data of registered voters released by SEC on Saturday had “not incorporated the addition and deletions of voters” in the electoral roll, which has been revised about five times after the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. Talking

about registered voters’ list for the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC), District Collector Rajkumar Beniwal said, “The last date for freezing voters’ list was September 28, 2015 after which the electoral roll was shared with all political parties… which was 38,79.771 voters… Any clarification in the SEC data will be given from Gandhinagar.”

Addressing the meeting in Radhanpur of Patan district, the Chief Minister, who was facing ire of the Patidar reservation stir supporters for her stand on the issue, with a sentimental tone said, ‘ my own community has turned against me on the issue of reservation. In fact the frustrated congress as part of a conspiracy, has made people of my community agitate for reservation. But now the Patidars have understood it and they were returning to our fold again.’ Mrs. Patel alleged that the opposition party had earlier spread rumours of outsider thieves coming in various areas of the state like Kheda, Anand and rural Gandhinagar. ‘Fearful people had to remain wake up several nights but later they understood the whole scheme of the desperate congress to malign the image of the ruling BJP,’ she said.

Equations changed swiftly a day after the municipal corporation elections, with a section of the Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti calling a truce with Chief Minister Anandiben Patel on Monday evening and announcing support for BJP. As many as 71 Samiti leaders met the Chief Minister at the Gujarat BJP headquarters, Shree Kamalam, in Gandhinagar, and joined the party.
