Congress did not follow Gandhian values, neglected villages: PM Modi Sunvilla News: Ahmedabad Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday alleged that villages in Gujarat remained neglected as the previous Congress governments did not follow Mahatma Gandhi’s values. Modi was speaking at a campaign rally for Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidates at Bavla village in poll-bound Gujarat’s Ahmedabad district. ’’Mahatma Gandhi used to say that the soul of India resides in its villages. But Congress leaders never cared to follow such Gandhian values. They actually crushed that soul. Villages remained neglected and their true potential was never realised,’’ he said. At the outset of the hearing, the CJI, who was sharing the bench with Justices Hima Kohli and J B Pardiwala, said
the portal will start functioning in 15 minutes. Justice Chandrachud urged the lawyers to see if there were some technical glitches initially and come out with suggestions to make the portal better. The bench headed by the CJI had been hearing a plea filed by law students Akriti Agarwal and Lakshya Purohit seeking a mechanism to file RTI applications online in the apex court.

Amara Raja’s strategy of “future-proofing” the business includes expanding the core lead acid batteries business inclusing lithium cell and battery pack, electric vehicle (EV) chargers, energy storage systems, etc. “We have invested in a state[1]of-the-art R&D facility to develop advanced cell chemistry batteries for electric mobility and stationary energy storage applications. Veteran industrialist Ramesh Chauhan on Thursday said he is scouting for a buyer for his packaged water business Bisleri International and is in talks with several players, including Tata Consumer Products Ltd. In a regulatory filing the Tata Group firm also said that it is in discussion with Bisleri International, for growth and expansion of the business of the company. However, the 82-yearold pioneer of the Indian packaged water business denied a report that a Rs 7,000 crore deal has been finalised with Tata Consumer Products Ltd (TCPL). When asked if he is selling his Bisleri Business, Ramesh Chauhan answered in the affirmative. “Yes. We are,” he told. However, he also added that the group is in discussions

A team of doctors from Apollo Hospitals, Ahmedabad, saved the life of a 40-year-old senior official of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) who met with a fatal accident on the Ahmedabad-Baroda Expressway. The BMC official was treated for severe brain, chest, and facial injuries for nearly a month and discharged from the hospital recently. The 40-year-old woman, a resident of Mumbai, was on her
way to the Statue of Unity along with her family of four when the car met with a fatal accident on the Ahmedabad-Baroda Expressway. The vehicle rolled over four times. While all the five members in the car were injured, the senior BMC official suffered life-threatening injuries. The family was initially taken to the Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad, on October 28 and later brought to Apollo Hospitals, Ahmedabad, in the early hours of October 29. The patient was then moved to the ICU.
