The railways are looking at becoming a major exporter of Vande Bharat trains by 2025-26 to markets in Europe, South America and East Asia, a senior official said on Friday, adding that the latest version of the indigenous trains with sleeper coaches will be operational by the first quarter of 2024. He also said the railways is planning to clock 10-12 lakh kilometers on 75 Vande Bharat trains over the next few years, for these to be export ready. “The ecosystem to export trains has to be created over the next two to three years. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday said India does not believe in a world order where a few are considered superior to others and asserted the country’s actions are guided by the essence of human equality and dignity that is part of its ancient ethos. In his address at the Indo-Pacific Regional Dialogue (IPRD) 2022 held here, he also said India has always seen security and prosperity as a “collective pursuit” of the entire humankind, in which there is no possibility of “island security or prosperity”. “It is my firm belief that if security becomes a truly collective enterprise, then we can think of creating a global order that is beneficial for all of us,” Singh said. The defence minister said now “we require to elevate the paradigm of collective security” to a level of shared interests and shared security. “India believes in a multi-aligned

index of three, which means no or minimal jolts for passengers; and noise level of 65 decibel which is 100 times less than the sound produced in aircraft. He also said that while the present Vande Bharat trains are fit for broad gauge, the railways’ manufacturing units will customise the trains to run on standard gauges used by countries across the world. In fact, the national transporter is constructing a 59 km testing track between Gudha-Thathana Mithri in Jodhpur Division (about 70 Km from Jaipur) for carrying out tests/ trials of various rolling stocks. This track can test trains running at a maximum speed of 220 kmph, maneuvering a variety of curves.

Singh also emphasised that dialogue is the only civilised mechanism for resolving disputes and disagreements and creating regional or global order

policy which is realised through diverse engagements through multiple stakeholders so that views and concerns of all can be discussed and addressed for prosperity for all,” Singh said.

Tata-owned JLR to cut production in UK till March as chip shortage persists Jaguar Land Rover, owned by Tata Motors, is cutting production at its UK factories till March 2023 as it continues to face chip shortage issue, said a report on Friday. “The carmaker, whose CEO Thierry Bolloré last week announced his resignation, has decided to cut production at factories in Solihull and Halewood between January and the end of March as it tries to prioritise its most profitable models,” reported Guardian. JLR and other carmakers have been plagued by shortages of semiconductors since early 2021. JLR’s performance is key to Tata Motors as it contributes nearly 60% to the latter’s revenue from operations. “JLR, the UK’s biggest carmaker, this November reported a record order book of more than 205,000 cars, but the chip shortage has complicated its efforts to ramp up production of new versions of its Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, which are both made in Solihull, and its Defender, which is made in Slovakia,” reported Guardian. ”We continue to actively manage operational patterns of our manufacturing plants while the industry experiences #semiconductor supply disruptions. Demand remains strong, expect performance to continue improving in second half of the year,” said JLR in a statement after the Guardian story got published. JLR last year announced an electrification strategy under which all Jaguar cars would be fully electric by 2024 and an electric option would be offered across its entire portfolio including Land Rover. JLR has been lossmaking for the past 18 months, but at the company’s presentation of the most recent financial results this November Bolloré said he believed that semiconductor supply would improve in the coming months. JLR hired former Renault boss Bollore as CEO in 2020, mandating him with the task of returning Britain’s biggest carmaker to profit after it took a big hit from the COVID-19 pandemic. The hosts had the last laugh in the end though, reaching the target with 17 balls to spare thanks to Latham’s unbeaten 104-ball 145 and skipper Kane Williamson’s 94 not out off 98 deliveries as they added 221 runs for an unbeaten fourth-wicket partnership. the hosts were in total control of the game, with Latham amassing 25 runs with the help of four fours and a six. That over swung the match firmly in New Zealand’s favour as the visitors struggled to contain Latham who galloped towards victory. Latham’s belligerent innings comprised as many as 19 boundaries and five sixes, while Williamson hit seven fours and one maximum. Tearaway pacer Umran Malik (2/66) made his presence felt on debut with his thunderbolts after an impressive show by the Indian batters, though the youngster from Jammu proved to be expensive.

Iranian police arrested the former international football player Voria Ghafouri, who backed the ongoing protests against Iran’s regime, Ghafouri, a player of Kurdish origin, is one of Iran’s most prominent footballers. However, he was not chosen to go to the World Cup in Qatar this year. His arrest comes amid scrutiny of the conduct of Iran’s national team in Qatar, where they refused to sing the national anthem in solidarity with anti-government protests. The government has launched a violent crackdown on the demonstrations that have rocked Iran for the past two months. Ghafouri has been a vocal critic of Iranian authorities

throughout his career. Notably, the athlete has long objected a ban on women spectators at men’s football matches, in addition to criticizing Tehran’s foreign policy. He recently called for an end to a crackdown on demonstrations in Iran’s western Kurdistan region. Ghafouri also expressed sympathy for the family of Jina Mahsa Amini, the 22-year-old woman whose death in the custody of Iran’s notorious morality police ignited the latest wave of protests.

The German trade union Verdi called several thousand Amazon workers in Germany to go on strike on Friday for higher wages. On Black Friday, workers in 10 of the 20 warehouse and shipping centers will stop work, the union said on Thursday. Verdi is demanding better working conditions and the recognition of the collective agreements of the retail and mail order trade. The walkout is part of the international day of action “Make Amazon Pay”, in which trade unions and organizations in over 20 countries, including the US and France, are taking part. The international strike day is “important” because a global company like Amazon cannot be countered “locally,

regionally or nationally,” the union said. The company itself does not expect any impact on customers in Germany from the strikes. At Amazon, preparations for Black Friday week “started months ago,” the company said. Amazon employs over 20,000 permanent logistics workers in Germany. According to Amazon, the starting wage in the company, including bonuses, is almost €13 ($13.50) per hour. After two years of working, the average annual wage exceeds €33,000 ($34,340). Black Friday is a colloquial term in the US for the Friday after Thanksgiving when many retailers give large discounts. It has long been the busiest shopping day of the year in the United States and the tradition is now spreading to other countries.

It was a spiritual extravaganza when sea of humanity flowed on the Nirankari Adhyatmik Sthal, G.T.Road Samalkha. The venue witnessed a grand spiritual gettogether in the vast grounds from November 16 to 20, 2022. The occasion was the 75th Annual Nirankari Sant Samagam, a milestone in the history of Samagams of the Sant Nirankari Mission, with a participation of lakhs of devotees from all across India and around 3000 devotees coming from various countries abroad. Thousands of other God loving people also participated. Many of them received God knowledge (Brahmgyan). The Samagam, being 75th in series had started way back in 1948, was of 5 days. This year a whole day of 16th November was earmarked for Sewadal Rally which on other previous Samagams used to be the first half of the Second day of Samagam programmes. This was to highlight the importance of sewa in devotion towards humanity at large. The Samagam focused on the theme – “Spirituality and Humanity Hand in Hand”. One could get

the idea from the hundreds of hoardings displayed on every route leading to the venue, the Nirankari Pradarshani, the Bal Pradarshani and other visuals all around. The proceedings of the Samagam including Sewadal Rally which were webcast live from the Mission’s website also dealt with the same theme through speeches, poems, songs and skits etc. The devotees rendered their thoughts in a variety of languages including Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu, English, Sindhi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Rajasthani, Bhojpuri, Multani, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Assamese, Garhwali and some tribal languages, thus evidenced the spread of Mission crossing barriers of languages. The focus was, however, thrown on the theme by Her Holiness Satguru Mata Sudiksha Ji Maharaj herself. Her Holiness blessed the participants that spirituality brings forth transformation to the inner self of a person beautifying one inside out resulting into humanity in every action of such a person. She further stated that when one gets enlightened with God knowledge, the mind gets freedom of negativities just as the darkness goes away with the onset of light.
