‘No force can divide us if we follow Narayana Guru’s teachings:’ Modi He was speaking at an event organised by the Sree Narayana Dharma Sanghom Trust to mark the 90th anniversary of the Sivagiri Agency News: Thiruvananthapuram: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said if people follow Kerala social reformer Sree Narayana Guru’s “one caste, one religion, and one god” teaching in earnest, no force in the world can divide India.“If we decipher Guru’s teachings in detail, we can find this message lays the foundation of Atmanirbhar Bharat [self-reliant India],” he said at an event organised by the Sree Narayana Dharma Sanghom Trust to mark the 90th anniversary

of the Sivagiri pilgrimage and the Golden Jubilee of Brahma Vidyalaya in New Delhi. Modi said Guru’s teachings provide spiritual greatness to patriotism. Mahatma Gandhi met Guru (1856-1928), who fought against caste discrimination, at his ashram in 1925. The pilgrimage to Sivagiri started in 1933. It is one of the major religious and social events in the country. Later Brahma Vidyalaya was set up to promote Guru’s vision and thoughts.Modi called Guru a radical thinker and a practical reformer. “In India, our sages

and Gurus always refined our thoughts and enhanced our behaviour,” he said. He added that inspired by Guru’s thoughts, the country is serving the poor, downtrodden and backward. Modi hailed Guru’s thoughts and preaching and added one caste meant Indianness while one religion suggested service to all and one god means that all 130 crore Indians belong to Bharat Mata (Mother India). He asked people to imbibe the spirit of Guru’s teachings for the country’s development.

SUNVILLA SAMACHAR Nitish Kumar May Be Bracing For A New Turn In His Political Life

The last one week has triggered a range of speculations regarding the direction in whichBihar politics is moving which included the claim that chief minister Nitish Kumar will bemoving to play a greater political role in New Delhi and the counter claim that he will remainCM of Bihar until 2025. However, despite the claims and counter claims, the political pictureis still hazy, but the continuance of the speculation indicates a political underflow in the statewhich may be heading towards a new era of politics. All these began with when the by-election results of the Bochahan Vidhan Sahba were out inwhich the opposition RJD candidate Amar Kumar Paswan defeated the BJP candidate BabyKumari by a margin of 36,000. The opposition interpreted it a result of lost illusion of thepeople suffering from the misrule of JD(U)BJP misrule. However, CM Nitish Kumar said theresult was not very meaningful, but added that people are supreme who vote for whoeverthey like. He was not looking concerned at all with the defeat of the BJP candidate, moreover betraying his happiness within in his expressions and body language, that waspicked up by the political pundits as indication of “something is wrong between Nitish and theBJP”. It was despite Nitish’s opinion that the byelection result must not be too muchanalyzed. The question is why Nitish Kumar desires so? Is there something veiled that toomuch analysis may reveal? As for the speculation that Nitish Kumar may be quitting Bihar Politics by resigning from thepost of Chief Minister for playing a greater national political role in New Delhi, there areseveral reasons. Nitish Kumar is one of the most senior non-BJP politicians in the countrywho entertains great respect from the leaders across the political parties in the country. There was also a time when he was considered as a potential Prime Ministerial candidate tolead the non-BJP government at the centre. It is also well known how he opposed the rise ofNarendra Modi in the NDA on account of Gujarat riots of 2002 and had come out of thealliance. He has ruled Bihar for a long time which might have pushed him in a situation inwhich he has no charm left there. His ambition, therefore, may be pushing him towardsplaying a greater role in national politics, for which the right time might have come since LokSabha elections are only two years away.It is why when Nitish Kumar recently moved out of the designated official residence of theCM at 1, Anney Marg to a house at 7 Circular Road, there started speculations in thepolitical corridors in Patna that he would soon resign from the post of Chief Minister. NitishKumar himself has not yet reacted on such speculations, but one of his ministers and seniorJD(U) leader Sanjay Kumar Jha has asserted that Nitish would remain the CM for the fullterm and continue in the office till 2025.“In Bihar, the NDA has been contesting assembly elections under the leadership of NitishKumar since 2005. … We have got the mandate for a period up to 2025. … I want to make itvery clear that Nitish Kumar will continue as the chief minister of Bihar till 2025,” Sanjay Jha asserted. However, when asked as to why Nitish Kumar moved to another house other thanthe designated official residence? Because of the ongoing repair works which were pendingfor last few years, he replied. The reason provided was, however, not being taken seriously in the political corridors inPatna, since people had seen Nitish and his son Nishant moving to the new house with allbag and baggage. The CM’s cows were also moved to the new house. It has created doubtsamong people because no one vacates one’s premises for only some repairs.“We all get our houses renovated. But when did we last see somebody moving out with allbelongings, including cattle?” questions former Lok Janshakti Party president ChiragPaswan who is now leading a faction now after a split in the party. Moving to a huse otherthan the designated official bungalow for renovation purposes was “not as simple as itseems,” he asserted. The speculations have another reason too. Nitish Kumar walked down to participate in aniftar party hosted by the opposition RJD leader Tejasvi Yadav at his residence situated at astone’s throw distance. He talked there with Tejasvi and his mother and former chief ministerRabri Devi. Nitish Kumar himself tried to stop the - Kapilkumar M. Hirpara speculations regarding shifting.

Nitin Gadkari has said if Tesla is ready to manufacture its electric vehicles in India then there is ‘no problem’ butit must not import Chinese cars

Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday said if the US-based Tesla is ready to manufacture its electric vehicles (EVs) in India then there is ‘no problem’ but the company must not import cars from China. In an interactive session at the Raisina Dialogue, Mr Gadkari further said India is a large market and there is a huge potential for all electric vehicles“If Elon Musk (Tesla CEO) is ready to

manufacture in India then there is no problem... Come to India, start manufacturing, India is a large market they can export from India,” he said. The road transport and highways minister said his request to Mr Musk is to come and manufacture in India.“But if he wants to manufacture in China and sell in India, then it cannot be a good proposition for India,” Mr Gadkari said.Last year, the heavy industries ministry had also asked Tesla to first start manufacturing its iconic electric vehicles in India before any tax

concessions can be considered. At present, cars imported as completely built units (CBUs) attract customs duty ranging from 60-100 per cent, depending on engine size and cost, insurance and freight (CIF) value less or above $40,000. Last year, in a letter to the road ministry, the US firm had stated that the effective import tariff of 110 per cent on vehicles with customs value above $40,000 is “prohibitive” to zero-emission vehicles. It had requested the government to standardize the tariff on electric cars to 40 per cent irrespective of

the customs value, and withdraw the social welfare surcharge of 10 per cent on electric cars. It had stated that these changes would boost the development of the Indian EV ecosystem and the company will make significant direct investments in sales, service, and charging infrastructure; and significantly increase procurement.

Coal priority for thermal plants: Non-power seeks supply parity

As many as 10 industry bodies noted that low fuel supply to

The call from the industry comes at a time when 85 of the 150 thermal plants, which use domestic coal, are facing critically lower stock levels that have forced states to procure expensive power from exchanges and led to power cuts in several states, including Punjab, Haryana, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh. “The situation has aggravated.

However, during the lockdown I watched it and I was truly blown away.”Taking the direct-to-digital route, the film was released on ZEE5 on December 3.Talking about his director’s vision for the character, Abhishek further said, “Our director, Diya’s perspective of the character was definitive yet fluid for me to have my creative advances. Bob’s character isn’t very expressive and being the protagonist there are quite a few subtleties that needed to showcase what a cold-blooded assassin living a normal, middle-class life with his family would look like. I had to absorb the essence of the character to do justice to the audience. It’s a character that will keep surprising you through the movie”, he added.‘Bob Biswas’, directed by Diya Annapurna Ghosh, and produced by Gauri Khan, Sujoy Ghosh and Gaurav Verma under Red Chillies Entertainment and Bound Sc ript Produ ction ban ners also stars.

The film is a spin-off from the 2012 thriller ‘Kahaani’ and follows the story of the eponymous character which was played by Saswata Chatterjee.
