The court of judge Vikas Kumar issued the warrant on the basis of a complaint lodged by Shambhu Kumar, an ex-serviceman and a resident of Begusarai. Mr Kumar, in his complaint in 2020, had alleged that series ‘XXX’ (Season-2) featured several objectionable scenes related to a soldier’s wife. ”The series was aired on ALTBalaji, an OTT platform owned by Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Telefilms Ltd. The wait time at the US Embassy in New Delhi for a Visitor Visa is 833 days which means it could take 2 years and 3 months (as per the date of writing this news story) for visas under this category to be issued. This means a person applying for a visitor visa is likely to get an appointment in January 2025. A student/exchange Visitor visa will take at least 430 days or 14 months to be issued. This means that if a person chooses to apply today the interview is likely to be scheduled by December 2023.The other types
of non-immigrant visas will take 390 days which means an applicant will have their interview scheduled in October 2023. The waiting period for interview appointments are similar or higher for US Consulates in Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai. Applicants for visitor visas from these four mega cities will have to wait at least 750-800 days (which is more than two years). However, the waiting period for student visa applicants at the US Consulate in Chennai is 29 days. The issue was also discussed on Monday when S Jaishankar and Antony Blinken met in Washington. Afghanistan has entered an agreement with Russia to procure millions of tonnes of petroleum products and wheat, Taliban officials said on Wednesday. He said arrests and recovery of the smuggled animals are crucial. The DGP has also asked for policemen to be briefed on various laws related to cruelty against animals and the Transport of Animal Rules and be updated about the law so that criminals are not able to take advantage of any loopholes in probes.

Why has the Centre banned Popular Front of India? The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Wednesday banned the Popular Front of India (PFI) and its associated outfits for five years for their alleged role in terror funding and links to global terror groups. The Centre’s action comes after the second round of crackdown by central probe agencies on PFI functionaries across different states. Over 250 PFI members/workers were arrested during the two raids and several incriminating documents were seized. According to sources within the Intelligence Bureau and MHA, these are the reasons why the Centre has banned PFI: The Popular Front of India had been one of the most potent radical Islamic outfit and its members had been involved in numerous cases of violence, crime, unlawful activities and terrorism. The PFI and its various front organisations had a presence in over 17 states in the country. The PFI encouraged its cadres to undertake actions that were prejudicial to the maintenance of peace and harmony between different religious groups, and disrupted secular fabric of the country. Hence, it is banned under Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Over 1,300 criminal cases had been registered by police and NIA against cadres of PFI and its front organisations in different states. Some of these cases were also registered under the UAPA, the Explosive Substances Act, Arms Act and other heinous sections of IPC. Further, there had been a number of instances of international linkages of PFI with terrorist groups. Some activists of PFI, particularly from Kerala, had joined the Islamic State and had participated in terror activities in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan. Some of these Indian IS terrorists were also killed in action by security forces in these conflict theatres. Some PFI elements associated with the IS had been arrested by NIA and state police. Further, PFI had links with Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh/JMB. Some of these terrorist elements had been similarly arrested by NIA and state police forces. One Sanjith, an RSS worker in Kerala, was murdered by cadres of PFI on November 15, 2021. In Tamil Nadu, the PFI cadres had killed V Ramalingam (a Hindu leader) for challenging its Dawah activities in 2019. Other prominent cases of murder of pro-Hindu leaders by the cadres of the outfit included Nandu (Kerala, 2021), Abhimanyu (Kerala, 2018), Bibin (Kerala, 2017), Sharath (Karnataka, 2017), R Rudresh (Karnataka, 2016), Praveen Poojari (Karnataka, 2016) and Sasi Kumar (Tamil Nadu, 2016). PFI cadres had also brutally chopped hand of one TJ Joseph (a professor) for alleged blasphemy in 2010. Some al-Qaeda and Islamic State training videos, depicting gruesome murders, had also been recovered from the PFI cadre accused in this case. Such activities created fear and feeling of terror among members of other religious communities, besides the public. In Kerala, explosives and jihadi literature were recovered from Padam forest area (district Kollam) in June 2021. The forest area was being used by PFI as a military training site. Over 100 bank accounts of PFI not matching with financial profile of account holders have come to the notice of agencies. As a result, the registration status of PFI under section 12A and 12 AA of IT Act was - Kapilkumar M. Hirpara withdrawn.

While addressing a Cabinet briefing on Wednesday, Union Minister Anurag Thakur announced the decision on Wednesday. He said the government has so far spent about Rs 3.45 lakh crore under the scheme. “Under the latest extension till December 2022, the Centre will spend about Rs 44,762 crore.” With the additional expenditure of about Rs. 44,762 crore for PhaseVII of this scheme, the overall expenditure of PMGKAY will be about Rs 3.91 lakh crore

Western India’s youngest child with a non-compatible blood group underwent a liver transplant at Global Hospital Parel Mumbai. The fivemonth-old girl from Gujarat had a non-compactable blood group and her blood had to be desensitised to remove antibodies so that her body could accept the transplanted organ. The 5month old infant was suffering from tyrosinemia presented with acute chronic liver failure. Tyrosinemia is a metabolic liver disorder caused by a genetic defect which manifests as progressive liver failure. Besides this, the other common paediatric metabolic disorders are Wilson’s disease and hemochromatosis. The child presented with rapidly progressive jaundice, ascites and altered sensorium. An urgent liver transplant was the only lifesaving option. However no blood group compatible donors were available in the family. An ABO incompatible liver transplant was done with the father, being the donor. When an ABO
incompatible liver transplant is done, the antibody levels in the recipient’s blood are tested and depending on the antibody levels immunosuppression in the form of monoclonal antibodies and blood plasma filtration are done. In this case, the antibody levels were within acceptable limits and monoclonal antibodies or plasma filtration were not required. The child underwent a successful ABO incompatible liver transplant. With the newer immunosuppression protocols, the ABO incompatible transplants have similar success rates as a standard transplant. Currently the child is recovering and expected to lead a normal life. Parent of the patient XXX said “After a lot of prayers we had this baby as a blessing of god and after few days of his birth our child started to get ill, after xx months his condition got worse and that made us very afraid of losing him but we had a hope and belief in God and the doctors Global Hospital.
