Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said threats by central agencies such as Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) or offering a bribe of Rs 25 crore cannot break Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs. Kejriwal ji takes great satisfaction in seeing fear on your face and you know it. Everything is ending. No matter how hard you try to pretend, no one believes you anymore. Now that it’s all over, the countdown has begun. Kejriwal ji I am going to show a “small teaser” to you and your ‘hardcore corrupt partner’ (Satyendra Jain). Stop Using Religion in Politics, Hate Speeches Will Go Away: SC

Agency News: New Delhi

The Supreme Court on Wednesday took serious exception to hate speeches and said the moment politics and religions are separated and politicians stop using religion in politics, such speeches will go away. The top court said hate speeches are being made by fringe elements and people should restrain themselves. A bench

of justices KM Joseph and BV Nagarathna referred to speeches of former prime ministers Jawaharlal Nehru and Atal Bihari Vajpayee, saying people from remote areas and nook and corner used to gather to hear them. Wondering against how many people can courts initiate contempt action, the bench said why cannot the people of India take a pledge to not vilify other citizens or communities.

Three Family Members Die After Excavator Falls on Car in Telangana

There is a ‘shadow government’ made by the opposition party that decides who will keep an eye on which minister. Similarly, there is a ‘shadow spokesperson committee’ in BJP. The committee decides which spokesperson will give statements on what topics. The hottest issue was that of Rahul Gandhi. Probably the department of statements on Rahul Gandhi affairs was with a senior leader of the party, because only he used to speak on each and every matter related to Gandhi. But the department was snatched from the party leader after Gandhi was disqualified from the Parliament. Now it has been decided that if the BJP has to say something about Gandhi in the future, it won’t come from any member of Parliament. At least someone in BJP suffered a loss due to Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification. Home Minister Amit Shah reached Karnataka MP BS Yediyurappa’s place in Bengaluru. He was welcomes by the MP and his younger son BY Vijayendra at the reception. Just when Yediyurappa was going to offer a bouquet, Shah stopped him with a gesture. Vijayendra standing nearby was asked to present the bouquet instead. Shah then encouraged Vijayendra by patting his back. A picture of this event in the media has invited speculations. Yediyurappa, a seasoned player, must get this political photo op of Shah. Dear motormouths, please be patient. The BJP’s senior leaders, spokespersons and authorised panelists in the media have been told to maintain decorum in their language. But the problem is with those leaders of the party who speak whatever they want in public meetings. They have been urged to speak only when the opportunity arises, and be patient for the time being. Last week, the BJP changed state presidents of four states. And it has created much restlessness in the party. There are speculations that similar reshuffles may take place at the central level and various other fronts of the party.

Agency News: Surat

Rahul Gandhi will file the plea challenging the Surat court’s conviction in the 2019 defamation case in a day or two, reported citing sources. The Surat court on March 23 convicted Rahul Gandhi for his 2019 comment ‘how come all thieves have Modi surname in common’ and sentenced him to two years imprisonment. The conviction led to Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from the Lok Sabha triggering a political kerfuffle. The BJP alleged that Rahul Gandhi’s legal team did not show enough promptness to challenge the court order as the party was aiming to capitalise on this ahead of the Karnataka election. Questions were raised that there was immediate action when Congress leader Pawan Khera was arrested but not after Rahul Gandhi’s conviction.

Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh on Tuesday said the legal team was working on it. “We know where to appeal. We know when to appeal as we have 30 days’ time. Rest is being looked after by the legal team. BJP’s allegations are baseless,” Jairam Ramesh said. The sentence of two-year imprisonment has been suspended for 30 days before which Rahul Gandhi has to appeal against the conviction. If the conviction is stayed by a higher court, Rahul Gandhi’s disqualification from the Lok Sabha can be revoked.

Anushka Sharma liable to pay tax as she owned copyright on her stage performances: Sales Tax dept tells HC

Agency News: Mumbai

Actor Anushka Sharma was the “first owner of copyrights” on her performances at awards functions or stage shows, and therefore liable to pay sales tax when she received income from them, the Sales Tax department has submitted before the Bombay High Court. As she `transferred’ this copyright to the producers of such events for a fee, it was akin to a sale, it said. The department on Wednesday filed its affidavits in response to four petitions filed by Sharma.

The Bollywood actor has moved the court challenging four orders passed by the deputy commissioner of Sales Tax demanding tax for assessment years between 2012 to 2016 under the Maharashtra

Value Added Tax Act. Sharma’s contention is that an actor who performs in a film, advertisement or a stage/TV show cannot be called a creator or producer, and hence she or he does not own a copyright on the same. In its reply affidavits submitted on Wednesday before a division bench of Justices Nitin Jamdar and Abhay Ahuja, the tax authority challenged this view. The bench said it will hear the matter on Thursday.

Agency News : New Delhi

England Test captain Ben Stokes will be available only as a specialist batter for Chennai Super Kings in the early stages of the Indian Premier League 2023. The star allrounder, who was picked by the four-time IPL champions for Rs. 16.25 crore during the auction held in December last year, arrived in India last week and has been training for the upcoming season starting March 31. said, Stokes, who has played for Rajasthan Royals and Rising Pune Supergiant in the past, will likely play as a specialist batter

initially to manage his knee injury, for which he has taken a cortisone injection — an anti-inflammation medicine. The 31-year-old has been hampered by recurring injuries to his left knee, with the most recent flare-up happening during England’s tour of New Zealand. Stokes bowled only nine overs across two Tests and batted with a lot of discomfort on the final day of the second Test in Wellington. Terming the injury “very frustrating”, Stokes said he hoped to “get into a position that I feel like I don’t have to worry about my knee anymore” with England set to host Australia for the Ashes this year in June. CSK batting coach Michael Hussey confirmed Stokes might not bowl at the start of the IPL. “My understanding is he’s ready to go as a batsman from the start. The bowling might be wait and see. I know he had his first very light bowl yesterday (Sunday) since he had his injections in his knee,” said Hussey. ”The physios from Chennai and ECB are working pretty closely together.

However, Raj Kiran’s tragic story is a tad different from other actors who have voluntarily retired from the industry. Raj Kiran disappeared not just from the industry but from the face of the earth as his current whereabouts are unknown even by his own family. In B. R. Ishara’s 1975 film Kaagaz Ki Nao, which starred Sarika, Raj Kiran made his acting debut. The 1980s saw a big upswing in his career. However, once his career started declining in the 90s, Raj Kiran is believed to have gotten into depression. It affected his mental health so badly that the actor had to be admitted to Byculla Mental Asylum in Mumbai. However, very soon his own family lost track of him and he has been missing for the last 25 years. His daughter Rishika Mahtani shares a birthday post every year in memory of her father. Several attempts were made by Raj’s co-stars to trace him. Actress Deepti Naval posted about him on Facebook, informing fans that Raj was missing and urging friends to look for him. On a vacation to the United States in 2011, Rishi Kapoor called the missing actor’s brother, Gobind Mahtani, who informed him that the actor was residing in an Atlanta asylum owing to a mental ailment.
