The Bombay High Court on Tuesday adjourned till December 2 the hearing on the bail plea of Maharashtra’s former home minister Anil Deshmukh in a case of corruption and misuse of official position being probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation. A single bench of Justice M S Karnik could not begin hearing on the bail plea on Tuesday as Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh, appearing for the CBI, was not able to appear before the court as he was unwell. Deshmukh (73) had approached the HC after a special CBI court rejected his bail plea last month. He sought bail both on medical grounds and merits. Senior counsel Vikram Chaudhari, appearing for Deshmukh, sought an early hearing saying Deshmukh has been in jail since November last year.

He had shared stage at the event with state Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’s wife Amruta Fadnavis. Varanasi: 40-year-old man dies of heart attack while dancing at wedding function Agency News: Varanasi In an unfortunate incident, a man died of heart attack while he was dancing at a wedding function in Varanasi’s Piplani Katra on November 25. A video of the incident has now gone viral on social media. It shows the man shaking a leg with other members and suddenly collapsing to the ground, leaving everyone shocked. The man was identified as Manoj Vishwakarma and was 40-years-old. He had gone to a wedding function in Piplani Katra, where he died of heart attack while dancing. The incident comes just weeks after a man passed away while he was grooving on his Sister-InLaw’s wedding in Pali district of Rajasthan. The viral video shows the man happily dancing before suddenly collapsing on the stage. He later died of heart attack.

the elevator reached the 9th floor, a woman asked the victim to exit with the dog, as she was allergic,” the official said. The victim refused and reached the building’s lobby. Soon the woman’s husband and a security guard allegedly followed him to the parking lot and started swearing at him, he said. After slapping him twice, the accused snatched a stick from Rathod’s hands and started beating him with it. He also kicked the dog twice, the official said.

The Delhi Police on Tuesday asked ride hailing firm Uber to verify past records of drivers before onboarding them and suggested that the company put a mechanism in the cab to check their alcohol consumption levels. While speaking at the safety feature launch event of Uber, Delhi Police additional commissioner Mahesh Chandra Bharadwaj said that drunken driving has been a major factor in case of rule violations. “If a driver is drunk then you should have some kind of mechanism to know that your driver is drunk. We test drunk and drive through the alcohol meter. Can Uber fix something closer to steering so that if a driver is drunk you get the notification. Please find a mechanism to test drunk drivers,” Bharadwaj said. He asked Uber to verify the past record of drivers before onboarding them. “Uber
should try to put a system in place to get notified about traffic rule violations by their driver partner, which in turn can be shared with Delhi Traffic Police,” Bhardwaj said. Uber India and South Asia head of safety operations Sooraj Nair said that the company has noted the feedback and will carry on study to check feasibility of features into the system. On the occasion, Uber announced expanded support to users to call their helpline even after 30 minutes of ending their trips. The statement did not mention about the fundraising plans, but market sources said the private sector lender’s arm is planning to raise between USD 500-USD 1 billion for the fund, which will be ploughed into the data centre businesses. Creditors may approach India’s aviation ministry to seek approval to liquidate Jet’s assets if there is no resolution on Tuesday in a critical court hearing, a senior banker said.“There are concerns the resolution plan may fall apart so we are looking to see if we can at least get something out of this deal via the liquidation route,” the banker, who has direct knowledge of the
matter, told Reuters on Monday. Once India’s biggest private airline, Jet ceased flying in April 2019 after it ran out of cash. It was taken to bankruptcy court by creditors owed about 180 billion rupees ($2 billion).A restructuring plan was approved by the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) in June and Jet was set to resume operations by the first quarter of 2022 under its new owners. However, disagreements between the new owners, a consortium including London-based Kalrock Capital and UAE-based businessman Murari Lal Jala, and its lenders risks derailing Jet’s recovery.

Knight Frank, a leading international property consultancy, in its latest report on ‘Prime Global Cities Index Q3 2022’ cited that all three Indian cities (Mumbai, Bengaluru and New Delhi) registered an increase in average annual prices in Q3 2022. Mumbai moved up from 39th rank in Q3 2021 to 22nd rank in Q3 2022. Bengaluru and New Delhi too witnessed an upward movement in index ranking from 41th rank and 38th rank respectively in Q3 2021 to 27th rank and 36th rank respectively in Q3 2022. The rise in average prices in Mumbai was recorded at 4.8% year-on-year (YoY), Bengaluru (3.3% YoY) and New Delhi (1.2% YoY) during the 12-month change (Q3 2021Q3 2022). in association with the local police on November 22, 2022. More than 4000 counterfeit products bearing brand name “MINDA” seized during the raid were worth close to Rs 12 lakhs. Commenting on the raid, Mr Neeraj Sharan, CEO, Aftermarket Division said “Spark Minda has taken a strong resolve against the menace of counterfeit product and we are thankful to the local police for their cooperation and action against the perpetrators. It is our endeavour to not only take strict legal action against them, but bring such incidents to the fore to create sensitisation about rampant infringement which is concern across sectors.”
