Agency News: New Delhi The Election Commission will hear the warring factions of the Shiv Sena led by Uddhav Thackeray and Eknath Shinde on December 12, official sources said on Tuesday. They said the symbol dispute of the party has reached the stage of “substantive hearing”. December 12 has been set as the date for first personal hearing of the two factions and the required order was issued on Tuesday. The poll panel has also directed both the groups to submit any further statement or documents by 5 PM, December 9. Earlier this month, the Commission had asked the Shiv Sena factions to submit fresh documents to back their claim to the party’s name and its symbol by November 23. The poll panel had also asked them to exchange the documents, submitted to the poll panel, with each other. In an interim order in October, the

Commission had barred the two factions from using the party name or its ‘bow and arrow’ symbol. Later, it had allotted ‘ShivSena – Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray’ as the party name for the Thackeray faction, and ‘Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena’ as the name for the Eknath Shinde group of the party. The EC had said the interim order will continue “till the final determination of the dispute”. Shinde had rebelled against Thackeray’s leadership, claiming the support of 40 of the Shiv Sena’s 55 MLAs and 12 of its 18 members in Lok Sabha. Following Thackeray’s resignation as chief minister of the Shiv Sena-NCPCongress coalition, Shinde became chief minister with the support of the BJP. Para 15 of the Election Symbols Order provides for hearing of representatives of the sections or groups as desire to be heard.

The love for cricket across India and Pakistan has never been hidden from the outer world. Both countries house millions of cricket-crazy people who just wait to see a clash between their teams in the ICC events. But the current equation between both cricket boards doesn’t seem fine at all. It all started when newly-appointed Asian Cricket Council (ACC) president Jay Shah said Team India won’t travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023. The statement wasn’t welcomed by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chief Ramiz Raja who replied by saying if that’s the case, then the Babar Azam-led side shall also not go to India for the 50-over World Cup next year. And recently, he added that the viewership of the showpiece might take a hit

if Pakistan pull out. Reacting to Raja’s words, Indian Sports minster Anurag Thakur reminded Raja that India can’t be overlooked by any country. “Wait for the right time. India is a major power in the world of sports and no country can overlook India,” Thakur, who had also served as the BCCI president. Adding to this debate, former Pakistan Salman Butt agreed with Raja’s statement and said the interest levels will be less if there is no India vs Pakistan game in an ICC event.

FIFA World Cup 2022: Choupo Moting thwarts Serbia to salvage 3-3 draw World Cup: ‘Bigger Agency News : New Delhi

Aleksandar Mitrovic took his team to a 3-1 lead for Serbia early into the second half before Cameroon’s Vincent Aboubakar and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting struck stunning goals to play out a draw 3-3 in their Group G match of the ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022 here at the Al Janoub Stadium on Monday. With the win, Cameroon kept alive their faint hopes of reaching the round of 16. Although neither team will likely benefit from the outcome, Serbia will undoubtedly be perplexed as to how they let a two-goal advantage to vanish at the Al Janoub Stadium after Aleksandar Mitrovic had

given them a decisive advantage. Both the teams tried to find the winner but the game ended in a 3-3 stalemate. Serbia struck right in the first-half injury time to dramatically take a 2-1 lead against Cameroon. Early in the second half, Mitrovic increased Serbia’s advantage following an amazing team move, but just after Aboubakar’s stunning dinked goal had cut the score in half, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting finished the comeback from close range.

Ecuador’s young team is tantalisingly close to a recordequalling last-16 place in the World Cup if they can beat or draw with Senegal in their Group A showdown at the Khalifa International Stadium on Tuesday. The South Americans have had a good start to the tournament, easily beating hosts Qatar 2-0 before outplaying The Netherlands in a 1-1 draw that made a mockery of the gulf in their world rankings. The job is not done, however, as defeat to African champions Senegal could

send Ecuador home rather than enable them to reach the knockout round for the second time in their history. “We have a bigger battle coming,” coach Gustavo Alfaro had warned after the euphoria of the performance against the Dutch.

Talking to the Sunday Times, the 56-year-old actress mentioned that actor Johnny Depp, has been “completely vindicated” following his sixweek defamation trial against exwife and American actress Amber Heard earlier this year. Bonham Carter and Depp have starred in several movies together, such as Corpse Bride, Sweeney Todd, Charlie and the Chocolate

Factory, Dark Shadows, and Alice in Wonderland. The actress linked cancel culture with Depp’s case and said, “When it comes to the cancel culture and Hollywood, there’s no road to redemption for someone like Kevin Spacey but there is for Johnny Depp, who notably won a U.S. libel trial over Amber Heard earlier

this year.” She went on to add, “Johnny certainly went through it (cancel culture). He is completely vindicated now after the trial. I think he’s fine now. Totally fine.” Bonham Carter also mentioned that in her view, Depp’s exwife, Amber Heard “got on that pendulum.” She believed it is the problem with things like the Me Too Movement. “That’s the problem with these things (the Me Too Movement) — that people will jump on the bandwagon because it’s the trend and to be the poster girl for it.” Talking about the backlash the Harry Potter series author J.K. Rowling has faced in recent years, she said that the treatment the author received was horrendous.

the Consulate General of Israel, Kobbi Shoshani, has also made a comment about the issue, “When I saw the film, tears came from my eyes. It was not an easy film to see. I think it was shown in Israel too. We’re Jews who suffered from horrible things, and I think we’ve got to share other people’s suffering,” he said. Israel’s former Ambassador to India also criticised Lapid for his comments on the movie, “ Unfortunate comment which reflects only his(IFFI Jury Head) own views and lack of basic sensitivity or

knowledge of what he talked about. He should apologize for his revolting personal remarks on historical facts without any sensitivity,” he said in a tweet. Nadav Lapid, an Israeli filmmaker and jury head of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) which is being held in Goa, condemned the inclusion of Vivek Agnihotri’s “The Kashmir Files” in the list, calling it “propaganda, vulgar movie”. Jet Airways’ creditors and its new owners are deadlocked over a resolution plan to lift the Indian airline out of bankruptcy, putting its future in limbo, four sources said. Creditors may approach India’s aviation ministry to seek approval to liquidate Jet’s assets if there is no resolution on Tuesday in a critical court hearing, a senior banker said.“There are concerns the resolution plan may fall apart so we are looking to see if we can at least get something out of this deal via the liquidation route,” the banker, who has direct knowledge of the

matter, told Reuters on Monday. Once India’s biggest private airline, Jet ceased flying in April 2019 after it ran out of cash. It was taken to bankruptcy court by creditors owed about 180 billion rupees ($2 billion).A restructuring plan was approved by the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) in June and Jet was set to resume operations by the first quarter of 2022 under its new owners. However, disagreements between the new owners, a consortium including London-based Kalrock Capital and UAE-based businessman Murari Lal Jala, and its lenders risks derailing Jet’s recovery.
