Sai Sudharsan’s 96 perfect footnote to TN youngster’s domestic form

Sunvilla News: Ahmedabad

Sai Sudharsan is one of those unfazed young cricketer who doesn’t catch the limelight often but has taken rapid strides in Indian cricket in the last couple of years. He is from Chennai and plays for Tamil Nadu in domestic cricket and has been able to make his name across formats for his state with consistent performances. The average of over 60 in List A, around 50 in first-class and over 35 in T20 cricket shows the value he brings to the table for TN but somehow in recent times, a player seem to garner attention only when he performs in the IPL. Sai Sudharsan has now ticked that box as well in the 2023 season, his second season in the IPL for Gujarat Titans. The young man very swiftly made his mark at number 3 for GT, after Kane Williamson got injured in the very first game. He, however, could not fit into GT’s scheme of things in the middle phase of the season but was again trusted in the knockout stage which talks a lot about his class and pedigree. full-toss to the ropes and sealed the win. Before the ball even reached the ropes, the left-hander was off on a celebratory dash to the dugout where his captain Dhoni stood near the boundary ropes. What followed next was a moment of pure joy and rare show of emotions by the CSK captain, with an injured left knee, as he lifted Jadeja and celebrated the nerve-wracking title win.

Sai scored 43 off 31 balls in the Qualifier 2, a must-win game for GT but was retired out as Gujarat management felt that he is not accelerating enough in the death overs. The Chennai boy though decided to save his best and made a big statement against the team that everyone in his city and state worships, that too in the final of IPL 2023 - CSK. The stage does not get any better and the 21-year old boy smashed MSD’s bowlers all over the park as he accelerated unbelievably to score 73 runs in his last 28 balls after scoring 23 runs in his first 19 balls. Sai Sudharsan ended up scoring 96 off just 47 balls and though.

SUNVILLA SAMACHAR Editorial Why Opposition’s Parliament Inauguration Boycott Shows their Immaturity & Disrespect

In a momentous occasion, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated India’s new Parliament this Sunday. A historic occasion unfolded in the expansive democracy of India. Regrettably, this witnessed a boycott by a significant number of opposition parties. The recent inauguration of the new Parliament by the Prime Minister has sparked questions from opposition political parties regarding the President’s absence from the ceremony. In a democracy, it is imperative that the opposition be granted the right to scrutinise the government and pose critical inquiries. The discussion surrounding the methods employed by the central government is therefore a topic of debate. The decision to boycott the inauguration session can be seen as a display of disrespect towards the citizens of India. In a show of solidarity against the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the opposition parties sought to display their unity. Looking ahead to 2024, the opposition parties announced plans to join forces and mount a united front against the BJP. This message signals a significant shift in strategy and a renewed determination to fight for their shared values and goals. These messages coming from the opposition camp are crucial. Messaging must not come at the expense of democracy. Parliament is not a party office of any political party, it belongs to every political party. As per the democratic process, it is the solemn duty of every Member of Parliament to serve as a representative of their respective constituencies and uphold the interests of their constituents. It was a notable absence at the recent ceremony, with approximately 156 Members of Parliament from the Lok Sabha and 104 members of the Rajya Sabha failing to attend due to a boycott by nearly 20 political parties. The recent boycott has had a significant impact on the representation of citizens in India’s democracy. With a considerable number of Lok Sabha seats affected, as many as 156 constituencies were unable to exercise their right to representation in the temple of democracy. It is imperative that the opposition come to terms with the fact that, irrespective of their political leanings, they are ultimately accountable to the citizens whom they represent. The primary responsibility of members of parliament is to represent the interests of their constituents. However, the recent boycott by opposition MPs, purportedly aimed at demonstrating unity, has instead revealed their lack of maturity and direction. As the political climate in India continues to evolve, it is becoming increasingly clear that the opposition must reassess their stance on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The matter of countering the BJP is a subject of politics. In the context of the inauguration of Parliament, it is noteworthy that the Indian Prime Minister serves as the representative of the nation’s populace. Regardless of one’s political beliefs, the Prime Minister of India serves as a leader for all citizens. In the current political climate, it is crucial that personal attacks and animosity not be allowed to take centrestage. The separation of politics and administration is necessary. In a political scenario where the opposition is in favour of constructing a new parliament, while the centre is not, it becomes an insurmountable challenge for the opposition.

Farmer Leader Naresh Tikait on Tuesday arrived in Haridwar and stopped the wrestlers from immersing their medals in river Ganga - a mark of protest against WFI chief and BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh over sexual harassment allegations. Tikait took the medals from the wrestlers and sought five days time to resolve their issues. Heart-wrenching visuals from Haridwar showed Tikait and other farmer leaders convincing and collecting the medals from the protesting wrestlers and assuring them of their full support. Naresh Tikait also made big allegations saying that instead of addressing the wrestlers’ issue, the Centre government is trying to protect the WFI chief. “Entire Indian govt is saving one man (WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh). There will be a Khap meeting tomorrow,” said Tikait, who intervened and asked protesting wrestlers not to immerse their medals while seeking five days’ time. In a new twist to the ongoing wrestlers’ protest in the national capital, India’s star grapplers Sakshi Malik, Bajrang Punia and Vinesh Phogat earlier said that they will throw their medals in River Ganga.
