From the Mountains, to the Clasrooms, to the Zoom Room
While Fall 2020 will no doubt be one of the more memorable semesters in C-GCC’s history, C-GCC’s Office of Community Services has worked — with immeasurable assistance from business, cultural, and non-profit partners in Columbia and Greene counties and beyond — to create one of the most vibrant programs possible.
On the following pages, a full suite of non-credit courses in a variety of disciplines are listed — some, such as our popular Watercolor, Acrylic, or Oil Painting Courses, will be held on-campus, thanks to the Herculean efforts of C-GCC’s Maintenance, Buildings, and Grounds team to create a safe learning environment.

Others, as is CoGreene custom, will continue to take advantage of our surrounding natural beauty. Award-winning photographer Francis X. Driscoll, for instance, returns this year to guide students through a safari of the Catskill Mountains, while the U.S. Sailing Certified instructors at the Chelsea Yacht Club welcome aspiring keel-boaters on deck.
Blue Ribbon Farm and Equestrian Center will host horseback riding classes for both adults and children, the Mountain Top Library beckons both full- and part-time residents to the hills to view its cathedral ceiling, and Motorcycle Training Solutions returns to teach the rules of the roads.
And for the first time, many of our non-credit courses will be held virtually, broadcasting live to students via the Zoom platform to teach skills ranging from Adobe Photoshop to Ageless Fitness, Pilates to Publishing, and Web Design to Wool-spinning.
For those students unfamiliar with online-learning using the Zoom platform, some helpful hints can be found on this page. For any other questions about Fall non-credit courses or to register, contact the Office of Community Services at communityservices@sunycgcc.edu.
