Multiview drawing : al’s place
The first project was to pick out our favorite building and to draw it using multiview drawing techniques. AL’s place is a modern new american restaurant for an inventive take on seafood & vegetable dishes. The restaurant is located on 1499 valencia st., san francisco and it has a simple structure with classy look.

Strengths : by doing this project, it made me understand a dimension of the building and taught me how to measure the building by using different method such as using google earth. Also it made me know that details of the building is very important. Weaknesses : getting the right measurement was very difficult while drawing. 6
Opportunities : gaining experiences by doing this project, i have learn different method that i use it in drawing other buildings. Risks : getting a wrong scale for the building might be a problem. 7
GROUP TINY HOUSE PLAN I WAS SO EXCITED WHEN I HEARD THAT WE HAVE TO DO TINY HOUSE PLAN BY USING A BLUE TAPE ON THE GROUND OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM. I WAS A PART OF YELLOW GROUP IN THIS PROJECT, AND WE HAD TO DESIGN A TINY HOUSE WHICH WAS 8’/20’.
Strengths : we were able to see the actual size of the tiny house that we designed and know to create spaces wisely. Weakness : we had to change our layout from the original plan according to the scale. Opportunities : i think i’ll be able to create a functional tiny house easily in the future. Risks : we have to cram things into small space, also not enough space!

ARRAY TOOL : 3D CUBES Learning how to use array tool, it helped me know how to generate so many cude instead of creating one by one, and know how to play with color. I love how cude appear in different positions.
Strengths : generating many parts instead of one by one and editing all of them at the same time. Weakness : it took time to understand how the use array tool.

Opportunities : generating more color cube in different shapes and making it more complex. Risks : it’s easy to make a mistake if you don’t be careful while using the tool.

PATTERNS

Learning how to create patterns is very helpful.this is another exercise that taught me how to get the repetition of a floor and a wallpaper. -----------------------------------------------Strengths : i learned how to use array tool and how to create patterns in my own design. It was fun to see different patterns. Weaknesses : some of the patterns were difficult to generate. Not having the right scales could cause a problem. Opportunities : we can use these techniques in creating patterns for a floor or a wallpaper in designing house. Risks : if you don’t use it carefully, It could ruin a floor. 13
DOGHOUSE

Understanding all basic tools and know how to use it is very helpful. This exercise gave me the opportunities to play with basic tool and learn how to build a little house from the beginning. --------------------Strengths :i learned how to use materials and how it display on the surface of the object. Weaknesses : matching colors or right materials was very difficult. Opportunities : getting a colorful little doghouse. Risks : ----

This is individual tiny house project that we all had to design our own tiny houses. What exactly are the benefits of tiny houses? In my opinion, tiny houses offer the fantasy of having less; less square footage, less responsibility, and less stuff. The idea has been particularly trendy in recent years and a lot of people want to spent their live in it. The concept of my tiny house was L-shape tiny house. Basically i wanted to design a modern tiny house that has a simple structure and has open space inside as possible(lots of windows or big windows). The reason for having a big windows is to make a space look bigger. For some people who worry about their privacy, they can have shades, curtains or blinds.

Strengths : learning how to build tiny house by using sketchup program. Learning how to put together designs and source materials. Understanding that getting the correct measurement is very important. Weaknesses : there were not enough spaces to create more adaptable spaces such as adding more closet or storage. Opportunities : finding the way to compromise between function and form. Also, creating more adaptable spaces. Risks : adding more people and relationship to tiny house is very challenging
