Innovative insulation

Supreme Industries has introduced many advanced solutions for various applications and industries. Why thermal insulation in buildings? India with extreme climatic conditions where difference between peak summer temperature and cold winter temperature is more than 20 degrees in many regions of the country, providing comfortable indoor climate is a necessity, rather than luxury. In India most of the buildings are built with brick walls with cement plastering or Reinforced Cement Concrete (RCC) with width varying between 125 mm-250 mm. Roof is usually made of Reinforced Cement Concrete with thickness varying from100 mm to 150 mm. While walls are built to withstand the building and wind load, roofing is finished with just water proofing. Thus, thermal insulation is rarely considered essential in traditional Indian buildings. However, times are changing and with that people’s tastes and preferences are also evolving. People have started recognising the benefits of thermal insulation and as a result, insulation in buildings is assuming tremendous importance. Thermal insulation helps in energy conservation by reducing heating and or cooling load on the building envelope. Also by keeping temperature under control, insulation helps in enhancing human comfort and eventually contributing to increased efficiency. Further by controlling the extremes of the climate, thermal insulation mitigates damages that might be caused to the building. Extreme caution should be exercised while selecting materials for thermal insulation as the requirements vary from building to building and also from region to region depending upon the weather conditions and materials used in construction. Industries’ INSU ranges of products are meant to fulfil thermal insulation requirements. Supreme’s 'INSUshield' is a non-fibrous, fire retardant (FR), closed cell, tri-dimensional chemically cross linked polyethylene foam and is an ideal environment friendly insulation material, with a perfect solution for all insulation needs for ducts, roofs, pipes, vessels etc., and is a better alternative to conventional glass wool insulation material. The divergent advantages of ‘INSUshield’ are ease of installation, low thermal conductivity and good moisture and vapour resistance preventing microbial growth and optimum condensation protection. Another product, ‘INSUf lex’, a fire retardant closed cell flexible elastomeric tubing thermal insulation product, offers a high water vapour transmission resistance factor which ensures a low stable thermal conductivity, thereby saving energy and ensuring efficiency of the system for ensulating split air-conditioner copper tubing for addressing typical heat ingress issue in PEB structures. The material is particularly suitable for insulating pipe works for condensation control. It can be used on chilled water pipe lines, refrigerated pipe-works, hot and cold water services and on sheets or rolls in air-conditioning ductworks. Insuflex is available in combinations of various wall thicknesses and diameters to suit G.T., copper and PVC pipes. Insuflex range is resistant to corrosion, fungal and mildew

growth and is therefore suitable for clean room applications. Insulation material with low ‘K’ value equates to high energy saving potential and thermal performance. ‘INSUreflector’, a radiant heat reflective insulation material made of polyethylene air bubble film (ABF) laminated with aluminium foil on one or both sides is used to block the radiant heat transfer. It is a low e-reflective insulation material with a low e-reflective insulation material with a low mass to air ratio, which effectively blocks the radiant heat transfer. The bright surface of the aluminium foil, which encases the FR polyethylene air bubble material, reflects 96 per cent to 99 per cent infra-red radiation received by the surface of the heated slated roof. A methodical, systematic and stringent approach to quality ensures all our products are not only world-class but also durable. We adhere to international quality standards while manufacturing our products. ISO 9001:2000and ISO 14001 certifications and NABL Accreditation for our various plants is a testimony to our serious approach to quality. It should be noted that these products are included in the GRIHA (Green Rating for Integrated Habitat Assessment) Product Catalogue, signifying the highest quality of the products. Also these products can be used on any of GRIHA rated projects and the application of approved products on such projects.
