Study the Vedas daily. Perform diligently the duties (karmas) ordained by them. Dedicate all those actions (karmas) as worship unto the Lord. Renounce all desires in the mind. Wash away the hordes of sins in the bosom. Recognize that the pleasures of sense-objects (samsar) are riddled with pain. Seek the Self with consistent endeavor. Escape from the bondage of ‘home’.

Seek companionship with Men of Wisdom. Be established in firm devotion to the Lord. Cultivate the virtues such as Shanti etc., Eschew all desire-ridden actions. Take shelter at a Perfect Master (SatGuru). Everyday serve His Lotus feet. Worship “Om” the Immutable. Listen in depth, the Upanishadic declarations.

Reflect ever upon the meaning of the Upanishadic commandments, and take refuge in the Truth of Brahman. Avoid perverse arguments but follow the discriminative rationale of the Sruti (Upanishads). Always be absorbed in the attitude (bhav) - “I am Brahman”. Renounce pride. Give up the delusory misconception - “I am the body”. Give up totally the tendency to argue with wise men.

In hunger diseases get treated. Daily take the medicine of Bhiksha-food. Beg no delicious food. Live contentedly upon whatever comes to your lot as ordained by Him. Endure all the pairs of opposites: heat and cold, and the like. Avoid wasteful talks. Be indifferent. Save yourself from the meshes of another peoples’ kindness.

In solitude, live joyously. Quieten your mind in the Supreme Lord. Realize and see the All-pervading Self everywhere. Recognize that the finite Universe is a projection of the Self. Conquer the effects of the deeds done in earlier lives by the present right action. Through wisdom become detached from future actions (Agami). Experience and exhaust “Prarabdha” the fruits of past actions. Thereafter, live absorbed in the bhav – “I am Brahman”!

That is Full; this is full. From the Full does the Full proceed. OM. Know that all this, whatsoever moves on this moving world, is enveloped by the Lord. Protect (your Self) through that detachment. Do not covet anybody’s wealth. (or Do not covet, for whose is wealth?)

By doing karma indeed should one wish to live here for a hundred years. For a man such as you (who wants to live thus), there is no other way than this, whereby karma may not cling to you.

There is a river and a gutter that is filled with dirty water. Both of them when meet together they are known with name of the ocean. (Sense: means men are divided in ill witted and a good witted person. They are compared with the river water and the gutter water. Both types of these are there in this world but where they all finally meet is an ocean that does not differentiate between these two gives space to both of them equally in the same way. Lord you are ocean where these two meets and acquire same color of nature). एक लोहा पज ू ा में राखत एक घर बचधक पयो;

There is an iron that is used in the holy worships while there is another that lies with a brutal butcher. This is not a dilemma for the "Paras" (a stone that is characterized by turning all ferrous objects to golden ones), it converts all the iron in the form of pure gold. (Sense: you should also not differentiate between good and bad and should shape everyone in one form that is you.) He says there is a soul and a supersoul, Surdas ji fights with the lord, says this time you need to take me across this world I am not able to leave the proud in me so can’t cross it by own self.

Dive deep, O mind, dive deep in the Ocean of God's Beauty; । Talatal patal khujale paabire prem ratnadhan
If you descend to the uttermost depths, There you will find the gem of Love. Khoj khoj khoj khunjale pabi hradya maaje vrandavan
Go seek, O mind, go seek Vrindavan in your heart, Where with His loving devotee’s Sri Krishna sports eternally. । Deep deep deep jnaner bati jvalabe hrade anukhsan
Light up, O mind, light up true wisdom's shining lamp, And let it burn with steady flame Unceasingly within your heart. Daing daing daing dangaya dinge chalaya abara se koun jana
Who is that steers your boat across the solid earth?

MANO CHALO NIJA NIKETANA
। Mano chalo Nija Niketane Samsar videshe, videsheri veshe Bhromo keno okarone
O heart, lets return to the real abode! Here in this foreign land, why wander aimlessly in stranger's guise? ।
Vishoyo panchara aar bhutagana Sab tor par keu nay aapan Para preme keno haye achetan bhulicho aapana jane
Your material senses and all earthly bindings All are strangers to you, none are really yours; Blinded by infatuations with strangers, Why do you forget who is truly yours? ।
Satya pathe man karo aarohana premer aalo jvaali Chalo anukshana sangate sambal rakho punya dhana gopane ati yatne
Ascend the path of Truth, O mind! Kindle your lamp of love, always be guided by its light as your provision for the journey, bring with you the virtues, carefully concealed; for, like highwaymen,
Lobha moho aadi, pathe dassugan Pathiker kore sarvasva mochan Parama jatane rakho re prahari Shama dama dui jane.
Greed and delusion wait to rob traveler's wealth. And keep beside you constantly as guards, Tranquility of mind and self-control. ।
Shadhu sange name aache paanthadham Shranta hale tatha karibe bishram Pathbhrata hale, sudhaibe path Se paanthnivashigane.
Companionship with the saintly being will be for you a welcome resthouse by the road; there rest your weary limbs awhile. If ever you should be in doubt of the path, ask your way to him who watches over there. । Jadi dekho pathe, bhayeri aakar Pranpane diyo dohai Rajar Se pathe Rajar prabala pratap Shamana dare jar shasane
If anything along the path should frighten you, then call upon the Name of the Lord with all your heart; For He is the Mighty Ruler of that path, even ignorance and death is afraid of His command.
