We have been carrying out this activity for over one hundred years, perfecting it while working leather and steel, interpreting saddle needs over the decades. Selle Italia is a pioneer in the creation of technological innovations specifically designed for the male and the female anatomy; it introduced the use of gel and has achieved otherwise unthinkable levels of lightweight and comfort, setting new standards in bicycle saddle aesthetics. But above all, it has turned the saddle from a mere component of the bicycle into a factor of well-being for the rider, ultimately making it a cult object for athletes. Your authorized Selle Italia IDMATCH Center will then recommend the ideal saddle for you using the results from IDMATCH. Selle Italia’s Identity Matching System requests the following riders parameters to identify the size of the cyclist: Age Height Weight Gender Type of cycling.

The distance between the two greater tuberosities of the femur is known in human anatomy as the intertrochanteric distance. Measuring this distance is essential for the analysis of the cyclist’s pelvis. IDMATCH uses pelvic calipers to obtain it.

Selle Italia’s Identity Matching System obtains the thigh circumference, easily measured on the upper leg at the gluteal fold with a metric tape measure. By relating intertrochanteric distance to thigh circumference parameters, Selle Italia’s Identity Matching System easily calculates the distance between the ischiatic tuberosities, where the pressure points on the saddle originate.

A unique element of Selle Italia’s Identity Matching System is the pelvic inclinometer, which measures the rotations of the pelvis of each rider. Each rider has a different pelvic rotation and once this data is added into our Idmatch parameters, we can determine the rotation of the riders pelvis and recommend a Selle Italia Flow, GelFlow or other comfort saddle for additional comfort.

Alcuni utili parametri per identificare la propria taglia sono i seguenti: Età Altezza Peso Genere Tipo di utilizzo della sella.

Definiamo distanza intertrocanterica la misura della distanza tra le due grandi tuberosità del femore. Tale distanza è fondamentale per lo studio del bacino ed è rilevabile attraverso uno strumento chiamato calibro.

La circonferenza della coscia si rileva alla radice del gluteo con uno strumento chiamato fettuccia metrica. Relazionando questo parametro al precedente, è possibile ricavare la distanza delle ossa ischiatiche, cioè i punti d’appoggio sulla sella.

Per misurare l’inclinazione del bacino è necessario lo strumento chiamato inclinometro pelvico. Questo dato permette di analizzare la rotazione del bacino e quindi di scoprire se, per un maggior comfort, è necessario utilizzare una sella con taglio anatomico centrale.

Category L: This IDMATCH category is for cyclists who have a LARGE distance between their ischial bones Each size is divided in 1,2 and 3 according to the pelvic rotation of the cyclist (1/low, 2/medium, 3/high).
