This course covers the core content of the exam and is designed to assist the candidates in their exam preparation and to improve their examination technique. Candidates will attend mock OSCEs, interactive workshops, and group discussions in the areas of:
Applied Surgery Critical Care Clinical / Procedural Skills Anatomy Surgical Pathology Communications
The first day of the course provides to the candidates an overview of the examination. Candidates attend tailored lectures and intensive anatomy sessions that cover all the main areas that are examined in the MRCS. During the second day, the candidates get to practice their skills and knowledge by sitting two mock OSCE examinations. Candidates receive personalised feedback from each one of the examiners after the mock OSCEs and are given tailored recommendations
about how to organise their study during the weeks prior to the examination. Candidates attending the course have a 78% pass rate on the examination. This is significantly higher than the pass rate of the candidates not attending the course.
