BIG WIN FOR MAX

Massive congratulations to Max O’Hagan who had a big win in the US, winning the Matlock Collegiate Classic by 9 shots. His second collegiate win. After 54 holes, he finished on -14 with rounds of -6, -5, -3 (202 total) to blow the opposition away. One bogey in three rounds.

Epsom Golf Club has a reputation for being one of the friendliest private members clubs in Surrey and playing a round here is as enjoyable as it has ever been, providing a challenge for golfers of all abilities.

The 18-hole course offers stunning panoramic views of London’s iconic skyline and testing greens that have become legendary in the area because of their mixture of surprising speed and undulation. An advantage of being located on the Downs is the free-draining chalky subsoil, allowing for excellent year-round conditions, Epsom is often open in winter when other local courses are closed. This winter was, in fact, one of the busiest the Club has experienced with visitor numbers up on last year by 35%.

Whilst being a club that embraces golfs traditional values, with a 131-year heritage to be proud of, Epsom recognises the importance of being progressive. The implementation of a course investment plan has enabled an increase in the clubs’ fleet of machinery and an ongoing

course maintenance schedule, delivered by our experienced greenkeepers, bears witness to continued improvements in the standard of the course.

As a forward-thinking club the successful introduction of new membership categories, including Flexible membership and a Buddy incentive scheme offering new members a 50% discount when joining as a pair, has seen growth of over 150 new members in the last two years. In April 2020 the club will replace its 5, 6 and 7 day memberships with a single Full membership category, which has no joining fee and is very competitively priced at £1,200 a year for both men and women.
