A new trophy is being added to the list of awards at the Surrey Ladies’ County Championships to be played on the JH Taylor course at Royal Mid-Surrey from Friday, 14th April to Sunday, 16th April.

The Frances McAdam Salver will be presented to the mid-age player (over 26 years old) with the best 36 hole gross score in the qualifying stroke play. Frances, who sadly passed away last September, was a great supporter of Surrey women’s golf, having been Captain of the county 1997-8 and President 2007-9. It is appropriate that the inaugural playing of the trophy will take place at Royal Mid-Surrey where Frances was a long-time member.

Entries to the Championship are open https://www.slcga.org/ competition.php?compid=36

There will be a 36 hole medal qualifier on Friday from which the top 16 players will go through to the match play stages. Last year’s Champion, Becky Gee of Hindhead Golf Club, will be hoping to defend her title.
