LUCIO’S TIES WITH AMORE GELATO

Our favourite Leatherhead high street café, Lucio’s, has just signed a deal to bring the famous Sicilian brand of ice-creams and sorbets, Amore Gelato, to their establishment. Launching this month, owner Lucio said of the tie-up, “We are so pleased to bring Amore Gelato to Surrey – being Italian I know my food and this is the premier gelato brand.” Lucio’s will offer a stand at the front of their coffee shop so passers-by can pick up these delicious desserts with ease. Lucio’s have also updated their menu with some new and improved dishes including Arancini, Breakfast Rolls with your choice of three types sausage (plain, chilli or fennel) and a bigger and better Lucio’s Breakfast.

SURREY AWARDED £1M MEDICAL FUND

Surrey University has been given a £1m cash injection to find new treatments for a range of serious illnesses including cancer, diabetes, digestive and liver diseases.

The National Institute for Health Research awarded the funds to the University of Surrey to form the NIHR Royal Surrey Clinical Research Facility. The state-of-the-art facility will be based at the University’s famed Manor Park campus.
