Reflection #1 FOSTERING PRESERVICE REFLECTION THROUGH RESPONSE JOURNALS Thinking about the reading I could realize some important aspects about my teaching practice. One of this is the importance of carrying out journals in order to analyze factors around teaching and learning process, since it promotes a reflective process in where the teacher can learn from the students’ actions and students from the teacher’s actions too. A journal gives me the opportunity to reflect about on professional development, since a teacher is a good one, when he thinks of his own actions, and the consequences of their job to the society. The idea of analyzing what we have done in class helps us to understand the way our students learn, which is one of the major goals of to be a teacher. A journal makes me: • •
Engage with my calling of to be part of the intellectual growth of my students. To give heads up to do not give up, for instance if I have a misbehave group, or many doubts, or I have tried everything in my class and it does not work.
•
To improve my relationship with tutors, since we are in constant communication with them and their help is invaluable for our teaching practicum.
•
Make me a generator of ideas to improve.
•
To start knowing myself as a teacher.
•
To learn the benefits and difficulties of to be a teacher.
•
To start thinking reflectively.
•
To identify educational issues.
•
To learn from mistakes.
•
To propose solutions being creative. Sury Liecel Angulo Rosales Cod: 051350462010
