“Academic success depends on full integration into school life.”
Providing a solid pre-entry foundation.
The Integration Workshop The Integration Workshop is a two-day, 16-hour program for international students entering the British independent school system for the first time.
Day 1 Travel, check-in, welcome. Day 2 Pre-entry foundation phase. Day 3 Post-entry integration phase
Offered exclusively by Erdiux Education, the Workshop specifically aims to improve academic results by providing students with the practical tools necessary for long-term success.. Students learn methodologies to anticipate then solve common problems so that the ‘shock factor’ is diminished; and behavioral strategies that permit a smooth transition into a new social milieu and empathic, mutual acceptance of cultural differences.

“Maximize your child’s chances for academic success.”
More than a simple ‘induction’ program.
Bridging the Integration Gap We have found that in too many cases students entering the United Kingdom for the first time fail to maximize the life changing import of their school experience due to a lack of information and specific preparation leaving them overwhelmed by the demands of their new life and ill-equipped and unable to profit from the educational opportunity provided. The Workshop seeks to address the root cause of this problem by bridging the ‘integration gap’; the distance between what the student knows and what the school expects in terms of their preparation to enter their new school. This process unlocks student potential, and culminates in improved academic performance and deeper personal enrichment.

“Innovative course structure and highly relevant, practical class content.”
The Total Perspective Approach
‘Total Perspective’ – A Unique Approach The Workshop’s unique ‘total perspective’ approach provides a 360-degree panorama of the entire educational and personal experience that awaits in the United Kingdom Success in the British independent school system depends on effectively combining myriad elements; socio-cultural, academic and institutional, and personal. The Workshop’s unique ‘total perspective’ approach reflects this essential principle.
Innovative and Vibrant Teaching Methodology Class sessions are designed to present leading edge content that guides and assists in addition to ‘teaching and preparing.’ The interactive teaching methodology centers on the practical application of the knowledge and skills students acquire during class time. Targeted course materials that utilize case studies, role playing, and discussion – rather than simply packaging and presenting information – initially introduce new concepts and thinking, then present novel situations so that students can demonstrate their ability to apply and adapt knowledge. This provides a platform from which students can launch a concerted effort to orchestrate these elements into a cohesive response to the challenges they will face.
Workshop and Round-table The workshop format test the application of these strategies, ensuring students master methodologies that will trigger full engagement and maximum effort. A summary session at the end of each day reviews the day’s learning. Finally, a capstone round-table at the end of the program, to which parents are invited, complements class ses-

“Students will learn to access and master the skills necessary for success.”
Designed to improve academic performance.
Day 1 – Check-in and Registration On registration day, Students travel from their point of entry to the Workshop location. They are met by the staff and checked into housing. After check-in, students attend a welcome reception and then a welcome dinner. During the dinner students will hear a short introduction about what to expect during the intensive two days of coursework.
Day 2 – Focus on Pre-Entry Foundation Phase In the pre-entry foundation phase, the Workshop instructor will focus on motivating students to accept personal responsibility for their success. This requires that students understand the importance of (a) appreciating the outstanding opportunity for educational and personal growth that they have been offered and (b) fulfilling all expectations emanating from a number of standpoints – socio-cultural, academic and institutional, and personal development.
Day 3 – Focus on Post-Entry Integration Phase In the post-entry integration phase, students master the knowledge, skills, and tools they will need to integrate once school has started; and to take full advantage of what their particular school has to offer. Students are then equipped to reap the academic rewards of their commitment.
By the end of the course, your child will be well equipped to avail himself/herself of what the school has to offer, accept their responsibilities, and flourish both academically and personally.

“Fulfilling Expectations – A Critical Result of the ‘Total Perspective’ Approach.”
Innovative and Vibrant Teaching Methodology
The Workshop acts as a catalyst to trigger students’ ability to become full participants in their education. Students learn to make the ‘system’ work for them, undaunted by its unfamiliarity and seeming complexity; by taking control of the system, they take control of their learning. The flow-on effect of the ‘total perspective’ approach is that all expectations – socio-cultural, academic and institutional, and personal – are fulfilled through full engagement and maximum effort. Students retain their individuality, and are accepted as valuable – and valued – contributors to the school community and to society at large.

Case Study: The Integration Seminar Eridux Education offered the Integration Workshop in Malvern, U.K. in the summer of 2016. Students attending ranged in age between 10 and 16; and came from Hong Kong, Shanghai, Myanmar, and other locations to enter Rugby, Malvern St. James, The Elms, Shrewsbury, and Repton colleges. Students stayed with host families in the area and also in the hotel with their parents. The Workshop was a great success, and student and parent feedback was overwhelmingly positive. Further, we have tracked student’s progress since completing the Workshop and all of them have been successfully integrated into their new school life—and are thriving. Indeed, they have requested additional courses in 2016 and throughout 2017.
