RESA Reports Front Doors and Selling Your Home
www.RealEstateStagingAssociation.com
Make a Great First Impression Professional home stagers agree that painting your front door the same color as your house or the trim will not do justice to the entry of your home. As pictured above, a plain door can get lost in the overall appearance. Rather than stand out, it simply blends in. Home stagers advise that the front door color is vital to your home’s first impression and overall appeal. The door color must be just right. The wrong color can be too distracting, but the right color can be breathtaking and memorable. A bland color, or a color that matches the trim, is not recommended. In a recent survey, 79% of professional home stagers felt that a colorful front door contributes to the overall look and feel of the home and can increase the home’s perceived value. The front door color can help a home stand out in online photos by making it more visually appealing than boring, non-descript doors. A great first impression can set the home apart and draw potential buyers in to see the home’s interior.

What’s Trending Just Because It’s Trending, Doesn’t Mean You Should Use It
Color trends come and go, but the color you choose for your front door will likely be in place for a few years. Professional home stagers advise that when choosing a color for your front door, you should take into consideration your home’s style as well as the paint colors on the home’s body and trim.. While flashy colors may be popular, the wrong choice could significantly change the entire aesthetics of your overall curb appeal.
