TIMBERFRAME HOUSE The goal of this project was to design a neighbor-friendly house in Northern Michigan, constructed with heavy timber methods. The house included a front porch to encourage interaction with neighbors, and a carriage house in the back yard with an apartment upstairs. Graphite on Vellum.

THE BEEHIVE
Mixed-use building constructed in heavy timber. Features a roof-deck with green roofs on 3rd floor and an outdoor fireplace. Restaurant, offices and retail on first floor. Sanctuary and residences for recently released inmates from the local youth detention center on second floor. Location in Grayling, Michigan with a view of the AuSable river.

BEEHIVE SANCTUARY The goal of the Beehive sanctuary was to provide a lovely, naturally-lit worship space with a view out toward the beautiful Ausable river. Clerestory windows and wood trusses, along with a rain garden visible through the north windows keep the space attuned with nature.

MOSAIC
This project was a multi-use full block development in South Bend, Indiana. The program included a destination grocer, sporting goods retailer, health club, 200 residential units, and parking for all uses. The location was directly across the street from the local baseball field, so I took advantage of the sports theme to develop an Olympic-size swimming facility. It became the focus of the project.

HISTORIC ADVENTIST VILLAGE In order to accurately document the existing buildings on the site of the Historic Adventist Village in Battle Creek, Michigan, we worked in groups to measure and record all buildings and interior spaces. We then went to work modelling the buildings in Revit. These models will serve the church in promotional and future construction projects. My assigned building was the Visitor Welcome Center, which includes a basement with 2 staircases and a gift shop. On the first floor, many historical displays, including health equipment from the original sanitarium, and a movie theater take up most of the space.
