ALYZE DREILING IS A CONDUCTING FORCE FOR LOCAL YOUTH ORCHESTRA

Growing up in an arts-infused household in Michigan with a father who was a pianist/organist and a mother who was a pianist/singer/oil-painter, it was inevitable that Alyze Dreiling would grow up to become enmeshed in the world of musical arts herself. Alyze, who began playing the violin at age 12, admitted, “Ever since I was little it was impossible for me to consider being anything other than a musician, especially a violinist. Music was always everywhere in the house!”

Now a resident of the Westwood community, Alyze is a well

known presence in San Diego’s musical performance and education circuit. Alyze is the founder, artistic director, and conductor of the Soloists Ensemble, Sinfonietta, and Festival Orchestra, all part of the Youth Philharmonic Orchestra. She is also the conductor of North Coast Strings at the Museum of Making Music in Carlsbad, and the principal viola in the Grossmont Symphony and String Quintet.

Alyze is also the music coach of the violin and viola sections at numerous schools: RBHS, Westview HS, Del Norte HS, Oak Valley MS, Challenger MS, and intermittently at Mira Mesa High School and Mission Bay High School. Plus, Alyze has her own private teaching clientele of about 50 students. Alyze commented, “It is very fulfilling to me, as a conductor, to lead and inspire these young musicians who are on their path in musical development.” Recently, Alyze was awarded the 2019 First Prize for Conductor of Youth Orchestra division from the American Prize, a national competition. She was also selected to participate in two International Conducting Competitions in 2018, one in Sofia, Bulgaria, and one in Nice, France. Alyze revealed, “I would like to conduct more here and abroad. My biggest goal would be to develop and perform with a professional chamber women’s orchestra here in San Diego, featuring a great deal of music by female composers.”

A fan of Rancho Bernardo, Alyze served on the city’s Planning Board and Community Council, and volunteered as Entertainment Coordinator for the RB Alive Event for numerous years. Alyze

proclaimed, “I want to be involved with serving the community and getting to know the people. I like to give back as much as I can!” 

Soccer in the community of 4S Ranch continues to flourish!

Force FC is happy to announce their first players joining the WPSL (Women’s Premier Soccer League), Breakaway S.C. It’s a league that US National Team players such as Megan Rapinoe, Hope Solo and Alex Morgan used to further their player development before entering the National stage. “For our players, it’s an opportunity to continue providing developmental pathways for soccer players that want to elevate their game to the next level”, stated Jose Ocampo, Force Director, DNHS Varsity coach and Breakaway SC coach.

With the help of the Athletic Director, Mike Gaime and a partnership with Del Norte High School, the WPSL will host their home games at the home of the Nighthawks. Force players like Christina Espinosa, Zoe Brick, Caroline Espinosa who have recently signed with Breakaway SC will be able to take advantage of their High School alma Mater as they hope to welcome a supportive crowd. “We hope to continue to work with passionate female soccer players that aim to take their talents to compete on another national level stage because I sincerely feel that in the past seven years we’ve developed players that can compete with some of the best in the country”.

- Adrian Ocampo, Force Assistant Girls Director, DNHS Varsity Coach, Breakaway SC Coach
