AG PRESS TRANSFORMATION Manhattan, Kansas Fall 2023, Professor Michael Grogan

The AG Press Transformation project took this historically-registered building and changed it from the warehouse it was to the multi-purpose agricultural exploration center of today. Through the continuation of its agricultural history, the new program of the building will allow families and students to become more aware of where their food is grown, how it is prepared and then be able to explore new ways of enjoying the produce. The form of the buildings were dictated by a series of grids and important locations around Manhattan, KS. The buildings were sliced in two opposite directions to emphasizes the connectivity that this location has to many people in MHK. The two structures on the site, old and new, mirrored each other in size and exterior elements. Through the addition of a HAT on the AG Press, the materiality connected the structures. To further express the extension of the AG Press, the site was sliced to continue the language of directionality and growth.

EAST HARLEM HOUSING East Harlem, New York Spring 2022 Studio, Professor Wendy Ornelas In East Harlem, there has always been a steady stream of young adults leaving the community. To bring people back to the heart of where they started, the East Harlem Housing will be the place where they merge back into their original community, bringing with them the things that they have learned. Through the mixed-use element(a vertical farming center) the community and residence will be able to learn to grow their own produce and enjoy a farm to table restaurant to open up a new world of home-grown vegetables and nutritional information.

In this parti model, the 3 colors signify the residence of East Harlem at different ages and stages of their lives. White =youth and adolescence Blue = middle years Yellow = old age The model was constructed under the impression that all these stages of life need to overlap and connect to help people get a different perspective on life. In light of this thinking, the design overlapped and shifted the apartments in and out of the facade to symbolize the different interactions hopefully happening on the inside. PARTI

THE HOUSE: Jazz Center Kansas City, MO Fall 2022, Professors - BNIM Studio

In the historic jazz district in Kansas City, MO, redevelopment is happening on every corner. The House is a new jazz venue for local musicians, artists, dance companies, and small shops. The House took inspiration from the prominent jazz bars where people like Count Basie and Billy Holiday got their start, by reflecting their impact through subtraction. The stark difference in the construction types of this new center is not to overshadow the historic buildings in the surrounding area but to symblizes the start a new age of jazz.

FUNERAL CHAPEL Copenhagen, Denmark Spring 2023 Studio, Professor Jacob Norlov

Kierkegaard once said, “How the shall we face the future? When the sailor is out on the ocean, when everything is changing around them, when the waves are born & die. He does not stare down into the waves, because they are changing. He looks up at the stars. Why? Because they are faithful.” 2 Forms- Life & Death - Transparent & Opaque - Light & Dark - Day & Night

INTERNSHIP WORK Wichita, KS Summer of ‘22

During my internship at GLMV, I worked in the Zoo Division. Several of our clients asked for artistic renderings, and I offered to use my watercolor skills. During that summer and fall I completed 16 paintings at various of scales. My process was consulting with the Project Architects and a few days of test paintings and then finally painting and a few post-production touches in Photoshop. Even though this is a more time intensive way of producing renderings, many clients like this intentional way of visualization.
