The villages of Samari and Nuwakot both lie in Nuwakot district of Nepal. Filled with old traditional Nepali houses and farms and set amidst magnificent scenery, these villages offer a unique opportunity to experience Nepal outside the classic tourist areas. Devoid of tourist groups, you enjoy a leisurely stay at these villages, interacting with the villagers and exploring the village on your own. Options for volunteering services are also open for those wishing to help in the development of the village. You begin your journey from Kathmandu by taking a drive (7-8 hours) past picturesque villages and magnificent mountain vistas to the hill top village of Nuwakot. At Nuwakot, your address is an old traditional Nepali house just a stone throw away from the Nuwakot Palace. Visits to the old palace, adjoining temples, local school and interacting with the villagers makes your Nuwakot stay a memorable one. From Nuwakot you proceed towards Samari a sparsely populated and scenic mountain village. At Samari you will be accommodated at an ancient Magar house that has been renovated recently. You explore the village, take a day’s hike to Sele and enjoy the Himalayan panorama from the ridge top. Later on you trek down to Dhading, where you will find our vehicle waiting for you. Proceed onwards to your chosen destination (Kathmandu /Chitwan /Bandipur /Pokhara).
