Founded in 1839, Sussex Cricket is the oldest county cricket club in the UK and oldest professional sports club in the world.

Since the turn of the millennium Sussex Cricket has been a force throughout England & Wales in all competitions.

We are proud to have won every domestic cricket title available, with twelve trophies currently in our cabinet.

But we’re more than just a cricket ground – we’re a hub for the Brighton & Hove community with matchdays, concerts,

Having hosted the first ever international women’s IT20, The 1st Central County Ground is unofficially regarded as the Home of Women’s Cricket.

From the Southern Vipers team, who have an incredibly impressive performance record, through to the England Women’s team, we pride ourselves on the role we have played in further increasing the reach of women’s cricket across the county and country.

Community is at the heart of Sussex Cricket, and the Sussex Cricket Foundation works tirelessly to change lives across the county through the sport.

Using the game and the Sussex Cricket brand, the Foundation delivers accessible and enjoyable opportunities that grow the sport, tackle inequalities, improve health and wellbeing, and enable people to fulfil their potential.

Sussex Cricket Foundation welcomes new players to cricket by championing competitive and noncompetitive junior, senior, women & girls and disability cricket opportunities, and relies heavily on the contribution and support of volunteers who keep these clubs running.

But they don’t stop there.

They also deliver a wide range of programmes to benefit the county Sussex Cricket serves and operates within. With Walking Cricket sessions for over 55s, Sporting Memories initiatives, a first-of-its kind Mental Health & Wellbeing Hub, and an ‘In the Bag’ programme delivering food bags to families in need in the Brighton & Hove area. It’s crucial that Sussex Cricket Foundation partner with local businesses to continue this work.

NETWORKING

Established in 2011, The Boundary Club is Sussex Cricket’s premium business networking and membership club, where business meets cricket, hosted right on the boundary’s edge of The 1st Central County Ground in Hove.
