The week of the 20th June was very exciting at Storrington Primary School! It was National School Sports Week and the children had a great time participating in a number of different sports, including Bollywood dancing, Tri-golf, fencing, ballet. Dodgeball and much more! There was also a competitive element - Our fantastic school grounds, including outdoor swimming pool, large field space and new bike track, lent themselves perfectly for our Key Stage 2 triathlon, swimming galas and long distance running events. It was also lovely to be able to invite parents to watch our Sports Days this year, and for them to be able to share a picnic with their children! www.storringtonprimary.co.uk

Egyptologist workshop, sports day & vacancy

Chestnut class enjoyed bringing their history learning to life with an excitng workshop delivered by Horsham Museum. The children were able to learn about the past using actual artefacts from the Egyptian period and also got to create an Egyptian mummy! Pupils gave fantastic positive feedback about the session including “I liked learning the different types of materials used for jewellery” and “I enjoyed seeing the mummification process and all the jewellery like the scarab amulets”. Sports Day: We spent two glorious mornings out in the sunshine working in House Teams to compete for the St Mary’s Sports Day shield. Mrs Parker did a super job of organising a series of sporting activities that everyone could be successful at to win points for their team. We also welcomed lots of parents, grandparents and extended family members into school for the first time in two years! The final scores were exceptionally close and this years Sports Day Winners are: Red Robins. Congratulations to everyone in the Red Robins Team.
