Concerned about your home being sold to fund your future care fees? The Issue

You probably own your home as joint tenants if you are a couple and solely if you are single. For couples this means you own it wholly, jointly and severally. Ultimately therefore you do not own it 50:50 as you might have assumed. You actually own all of it together and when one partner dies the surviving partner owns it solely and absolutely. It is sole and absolute ownership that enables a whole property to be taken into consideration as an asset by the local authority and puts the property in danger of needing to be sold to fund care.

The Reality Today

The care Act 2014 introduced in April 2015 allows local authorities to assess your assets to determine if you need to pay for your own care under the new charges and assessment of resources regulations. Currently if you have assets above £23,250, you are on your own and require care, you will probably have to pay for it all - currently averaging around £1,000 per week. Savings, cash and income would be used first and then your property would need to be taken into consideration. You would be expected to pay for all of your care until such time as your assets were depleted to below the £23,250 threshold. You would then pay for a proportion of your care until your assets were below £14,250 - at which point all your future care would be paid for after any relevant income was taken into account.

The Solution

For couples, simply by changing the way you own your property well in advance of any care considerations i.e. from joint tenants to tenants in common and by setting up two property Trusts either immediately or within a properly structured Will at the same time will in most cases, protect the integrity of your home should you ever require care in the future, so long as avoiding care fees was not a primary motivating reason behind the implementation fo the strategy - i.e. you should be looking to protect your half of your property should your spouse remarry after your death, or you should be looking to ensure that your children would not lose 50% of their inheritance should they be made bankrupt or divorce or for example you should be looking to prevent a generational inheritance tax burden in the future. These are all sound reasons for implementing this strategy which in themselves are not deliberate deprivation of assets, but the implemantation of which protects the integrity of the property.

Is your weight affecting your health? No matter how hard you have tried in the past, The Metabolic Weight Loss Programme could just be the answer to losing your weight and keeping it off once and for all.

Rachel Ricketts, Weight Loss Consultant

It

can be extremely soul destroying when you just can’t seem to shift your excess weight, no matter what you do. If you have reached the stage where putting on any more weight is simply not an option for you, then read on!

Improving your health Being overweight is no laughing matter when the physical strain on your body is starting to take its toll on your health. Your GP or your family may have expressed their concern and urged you to slim down – all very well if only you knew how to! Help is at hand to resolve your weight problem. Rachel and her team have helped over 4000 clients of all ages and from all walks of life to slim down successfully. Many come to see her as a last resort and are delighted to have achieved, and successfully maintained, the weight they want to be.

Feeling and looking better As the weight falls off, time after time clients remark how well they feel, how young they feel and how much more energy they have. Typical health improvements include blood pressure, cholesterol, mental alertness, skin conditions and even fertility. Clients often comment on just how impressed their doctors or consultants are with their weight loss and health improvements. “My doctor is very happy - I’ve been able to come off blood pressure and cholesterol medication.”

With an average weight loss of 7-14lb a month for clients and hundreds of hand written testimonials, Rachel’s results speak for themselves.

A workable programme that’s easy to follow

One-to-one support for weight loss and maintenance Consultations are available every 7-10 days with email support as needed. Clients welcome the very personalised support provided. Time and again, clients comment that they couldn’t have lost the weight without the support and encouragement of Rachel and her team.

For those who are not able to visit, a very successful remote support service is provided throughout the UK and overseas. Distance is no object!

The Metabolic Weight Loss Programme is based on a simple four-stage eating plan: the first two stages deal with weight loss, while the last two stages deal with weight maintenance. This highly successful tried and tested programme is easy to stick to and more importantly, it works.

Call now for a free consultation – absolutely no obligation.

The expected average weight loss of clients is 7-14lb a month. As you can imagine, clients are more than happy with this motivating weight loss, especially for those who have struggled with their weight for so long.
