FROM OBJECT TO PAPER PAPER JEWERLY PROJECT 09/2013
There was a course to observe and deconstruct an object which required us to expresse it on paper when I was a freshman in GAFA. I choose a plastic earing. From macro to micro, from concrete to abstract, I started it from its construction. With some figurative drawings in pencil and ink, I started to focuse on the figures of beads.
I got lots of results from this simple object, every step could be the source of inspiration for next work. This endless process reminded me of Mobius strip that you would return to the starting point if you were to walk along the length of this strip.
This paper jewelry work was inspired by Mobius strip and abstract paintings of beads I’ve done as the final work for that observation course.

VANISH CITY VILLAGE PROJECT II 01/2014
Accompanied by the development of economy, city villages became a typical element in Chinese cities, and many natural villages still stand in Chinese urbanism.
In evenings, empty houses like this became spaces for illegal issues, such as prostitution and drug trafficking.
Wenchong is one of the village involed in eastern area of Guangzhou city. In the rebuilding program, over 60% residents moved into new apartments built by governmentIn in 2010, a year later after program began. However, related to economy, culture, politic and society and involved many various interests and conflicts of residents, government and land developers, the renewal program is gigantic and complex. Facing such difficulties, the prgram goes slowly. Moreover, some villagers refuse to move out of their villages. Even though it gradually vanished or even becomes ruins.
At the first time I went to this village, I felt lost a giant maze and trapped in a bird cage, The high density of buildings made me feel interesting but oppressive. I draw thoese sketches in the ruin of Wenchong city village, and the shapes of soap rings were inspired by those images.
This is the second piece of the project that I have been doing since the fresh year. To show the vanishing village, I was going to make use of the material that would change over environment factors, such as temperature. On the left, the first work I’ve done was about receipt paper (thermal paper). I printed images of buildings in villages that would be tear down soon in receipt paper roll. With the heat-sensitive character of thermal paper, those building images would fade away and paper roll would return to clear finally just like the land-cleaning process in reality. In this village, many old ladies worn ancestral rings living on this ancestral land. They were going to leave their land and the meaning of their rings were far beyond than decoration. Followed the idea from the very beginning, I started trying another material, soaps, to made this serise of rings.

TOY BRICKS 02/2014
This project was inspired by a concept called 'module' from a book named 'Mustard Seed Garden Manual of Painting'. This book ,which published around 1680, is an instruction manual for students of Chinese painting. It reproduces examples from famous paintings of Song, Yuan and Ming dynasties. Traditionally, art study in ancient China starts from copying famous art works. The editor separated every element of those paintings and regarded those elements as modules. If you master those modules, it will be easy to draw a complete Chinese painting.
This painting was selected form this manual as well as patterns of mountains, trees and houses . As a kind of combination, this painting could be regard as an example of this concept.
PART A PART B For starters, I try to think about objects around us and I finally decided to focus on necklace. Generally, there is two parts of necklace, one is a chain around neck, another is decorative part which could be a pendant or few beads.
PART B
PART A
It reminded me of the happy moments in childhood which was filled with toy bricks, and it inspired me to fulfil the idea of module. I used a set of toy bricks to be part A, and two ropes to be part B. As basic parts of necklace, you can get hundereds of results from combination with those bricks and ropes.
I broght this necklace set to my friends and gratefully they find it not only p l ay f u l b u t a l s o unique. I'll keep developing this concept more in future study.
TREE BOX
08/2014
I was born in the south of China, a subtropical zone without snowing in wintes grows plenty of palms and evergreens. In my city, the most typical tree is banyan with diffuse branches that parallel to ground.
In the third year of college, I went to Austria as an exchange student for one semester. It impressed me that trees in this country were tall and straight to sky which were totally different from southern China. Manicured greens were planted in front of every houses. M o r e o v e r, i n s o m e i m p e r i a l palaces, tied up tree branches were ‘corrected’ into a straight direction.
This brooch was inspired by neat straight branches and golden elements from Klimt Gustav’s paintings.

COBBLESTONES
09/2014
This work was inspired by cobblestones in gardens and streets and customs of twining objects by thread from some african tribes. I used cotton threads to express the smooth texture of cobblestones on shores. The shape of this necklace was imitated the figure for overlapping cobblestones.
ONE MOMENT BEAUTY A DESIGN AND CONCEPT OF JEWELRY DISPLAY/EXHIBITION 09/2014
Lots of those life-sized cardboard cut-outs are standing in amusement parks and tourist attractions. People stand behind those cardboard for a photo shoot and celebrities’ outfits. There would be fun for people to be celebrities for seconds. Jewelry is always displayed inside a glass case that nobody could touch or experience it. But What if it is available to audience and everyone can enjoy it for seconds?
