Photo contests are a great way for your fans to get more involved and excited about your page. It's also a great opportunity for your participants to tell their friends all about you. I'm going to show you the same tactics I used and how my offline business went from 33 Facebook fans to 533 Facebook fans in just a few short weeks without spending a dime on advertising. 1.

Create Hype Through Great Prizes

Because photo contests require slightly more work on the participants' part, there needs to be more value in it in order for them to enter something they may not to win. Typically a $50 minimum value is required. 2.

Limited Time Frame

Have the contest last no longer than one week. If it's too long, people become bored with it. In the past I've had the same contest running for several weeks in a row, giving away the same items each week. It started really slow with only one photo submission and about 10 votes. In the weeks since we were getting on average 6 photo submissions per week with some over 100 votes! 3.

Have Multiple Prizes

You can either have one new winner each week and a grand prize for the final week, or you can have a one-week contest with multiple prizes for participants. I've used both. The one that got the best results was picking one winner each week, then offering a grand prize to the winner with the most "likes" after the entire contest was over. 4.

Easy to Enter

A simple way to do this is to enable the ability of your fans to post photos directly to your page's wall. You will need to monitor your page to be sure no fans post anything you may not want on your page. But if you clearly spell out the rules beforehand, you shouldn't have any problems. 5.

Make it Fair

Instead of basing the photo contest on something such as "most creative" or "most artistic" where it's down to a judge's vote, base the contest on the most "likes". Another benefit of this is that for anyone to vote or "like" a photo on your page they first need to join your page. If you have a great

prize, your followers will start spreading the word about your contest. Conclusion This is easily one of the cheapest and most fun ways to get new followers and traffic to your Facebook page. And best of all, it's easy! So what are you waiting for? Start your own Facebook photo contest today and let us know how it went by leaving a comment on this post.
