WHAT ARE LINKEDIN CONTACTS? LinkedIn Contacts brings all your contacts from your address books, emails, calendars, and your LinkedIn network, and keeps them up to date. This feature is currently released to members using the English version of the site, and is available for computer and iPhone users.

1. Move your cursor over Network at the top of your homepage and select Contacts. 2. Click the Settings icon near the top right. 3. Click Sync next to the contact source you want to update.

LinkedIn Contacts can regularly synchronize with your contacts from sources such as: Microsoft Outlook, Google Gmail, Google Calendar, Google Contacts, Google Voice, Evernote, LinkedIn CardMunch, and many others.

Tags


Tags are custom categories that allow you to organize and categorize your contacts. Some LinkedIn connections may be automatically tagged, but you can also create new tags and assign people to those categories. 



Automatically tagged connections - If someone who's inviting you to connect indicates that you're a classmate, a colleague, a friend, a fellow group member, or a person they've done business with, they'll be tagged with that label once you accept their invitation. Visibility of tags - You're the only one who can see your tags. Click Filter by above your list of contacts and choose Tag see them all. You can tag or untag anyone who's saved in your LinkedIn Contacts. Tags are simple keywords to help organize and sort your contacts. They can be added from the Contacts page or a person's profile. To add or remove a tag on a profile: 1. Go to the profile and click Relationship in the top section of the profile under the member's photo. 2. Click Tag.


3. Check the box next to an existing tag or click +Add new tag to create a new one. If you create a new tag, type in the name and click Save. To remove a tag, uncheck the box next to it. To add or remove a tag from the Contacts page: Network at the top of your homepage and select Contacts. and click Tag below the contact's information. click +Add new tag to create a new one. If you create a new one, type in the name of your tag and click Save. To remove a tag, uncheck the box next to it. The tag will be visible to you on the person's contact information and on their profile. You can click the tag in these areas to see all other profiles with the same tag. Only you will see the tags you've created. Note: You can create up to 200 new and unique tags or delete old ones.

Remove a Connection or delete a Contact


To remove a single connection or contact: 1. Go to the top area of the profile that shows the person's name, company, and other details. 2. Move your cursor over the down arrow on the gray button. 3. Select the option to remove the connection or delete the contact. To remove multiple contacts or connections all at once:

1. Move your cursor over Network at the top of your homepage and select Contacts. 2. Check the boxes next to the people you'd like to remove. 3. Click More at the top center of the Contacts box. 4. Select Remove from Contacts.

Merging duplicate Contacts


You may sometimes find duplicate contacts because the feature can't always identify all contact records that represent the same person. If you find duplicate contact records, you can merge them into one contact: 1. Move your cursor over Network at the top of your homepage and select Contacts. 2. Check the boxes next to the contact records you want to merge. 3. Click Merge when it appears at the top of the list. Note: Please be careful when merging contacts. If you unintentionally merge several contacts into one, you will need to manually unmerge that one contact several times in order to create individual contact records again.

Exporting Contacts


1. Click Contacts at the top of your LinkedIn homepage. 2. Click the Settings icon near the top right corner of the screen. 3. Go to the Advanced Settings box on the right side of the page and click the Export LinkedIn Connections link. 4. Click Export.
