CONTEXT

The location is a China stylish slum area in Beijing. It is close to the North 5th Ring Road.

With development of citilization, Zhufangcun has been surroundes by high-rise buildings (more than 25 stories). The slum has been stuck with quantity of low-income people or families. The problems like lack of rent rooms, or full of ilegal selfbuildings.

To try to solve the problems and bring out a project to upgrading here step by step, I made this work. During the whole study, I mainly did 3 things: 1/I took 1 month research there, in December, 2018. During witch I mapped the whole area and reorganized the blocks and flow lines. 2/I made a self-building systerm letting people who live there build there own community. 3/I gave a placement of developing vision and direction.

Siheyuan

A siheyuan is a historical type of residence that was commonly found throughout China, most famously in Beijing The historical and cultural value of siheyuan in Tsinghe Zhufangcun is quite high since it has been protected by the government. There were several spots of siheyuan house in our location.

This is a lifestyle hotel based on the values of the millennials, trying to express the street art and street sports culture that characterized Shibuya.

Then, adjust the shape of the facade by inclining the partf facing the street.

There is a cafe on the first floor and a terrace facing the square. And people who use the square can go to the cafe from the back. Regarding the material of the outer wall, I want to emphasize the volume, so I think that it is almost dark glass, the outer wall of the first floor is mainly white with ricin spraying and stainless, the opening is a black frame.

Millennial generation have a strong sense of com-munity both on local and global scale. Compared to previous generation, Millennials focus on larger societal needs

TASK Stadium Hotel

From luxury city hotel to resort hotel, even economy business hotel, in Tokyo it assembles all genres of hotel. However, do those hotels indeed attract you to stay?

The site is a corner plot facing the New National Stadium, along the Gaien Nishi Dori. From it here you can easily walk to Jinkgumae area and Jingu Gaien, even Harajuku area and Shinjuku Gyoen.

In front of the New National Stadium, we also need to think of the neighborly relations and the connectivity of internalexternal space, then depict an iconic hotel exclusively for Tokyo.

There is a street sports yard landscape design. It could also be used as a normal park.

This workshop, set for design-related students, is located between building 7 and 8, buried 1.5 m deep to reduce the height of the building. It is constructed as can be accessed flat from building 9, and half downstairs from building7/8. The rooftop level is connected with building 7 by bridge.

EV Building connecting Building 7/8 in MAU Campus

To make it a barrier-free campus, we designed a EV building for elevator landing on all floors, meanwhile bridges building 7 and 8. As Building 7 was designated by DOCOMOMO in 2017, it was planned that the volume of EV building will only be an EV shaft and existing Buildings 7 and 8 will be connected by an outdoor staircase and an outdoor bridge to preserve the independence of each building.

This project is an annex of the residence " Makuhari-Nishi House", which was completed in 1998. It has been used as a residence for 19 years by 2017, and the eldest daughter couple live in it now. Since the couple both teach Spanish, they planed to add a language classroom and living space in the annex, without changing existing living functions. Access to the both sides of the road, terraces and slopes connecting the existing building, and spiral staircases inside the annex, all these induces various possibilities by integrating working and living together.We believe that this annex project would provide new functions and values, and would at the same time build connections with the region.

Work for The 54th Central Glass International Architechtural Design Competition

Context

We thought it would be a sleepless city, within a large number of small businesses, such as restaurants, grow in high-density, among shopping malls, entertainment facilities and sightseeing spots, and the suitable scale for walk would be its characteristic.

Located in Odaiba, where large facilities gather, we proposed the moving shopping street, small shops set inside train cars.

In Odaiba, we proposes a new light rail Odaiba Ring. Transfer from JR Tokyo Teleport Station, depart from the first Odaiba Ring Line Daiba Station, go around 6 stations such as Aquacity Station and return to Odaiba Station.

The train will be made up of 9 cars, randomly composed by café, restaurant, food stall, grocery, and exhibition space. While enjoying the moving shopping streets, you can easily visit each destination in Odaiba.
