Bailly House resident to celebrate 90th birthday Jim Ferguson, resident of St Vincent de Paul’s aged care facility Bailly House, will celebrate his 90th birthday in style on Monday. Jim was raised by his grandmother in country Victoria, including time spent in both Beechworth and Wangaratta. As an adult he lived in North Melbourne and worked at the GPO for 43 years. Jim’s grandmother instilled strong Catholic values in him as he was growing up. He still lives by these values today, as a parishioner at St Michael’s in North Melbourne, and through helping to organise mass at Bailly House for those unable to attend St Michael’s. Jim has been a resident of Bailly House for more than 20 years. Without any family of his own, he considers his fellow residents and the staff as family. Jim will share the exciting milestone with the residents and staff at Bailly House, and celebrate with a party including cake and of course a rousing rendition of ‘Happy birthday’. Bailly House is an accredited 39 bed low care facility for frail aged residents. The facility includes respite beds available throughout the year. It is a facility of St Vincent de Paul Aged Care & Community Services.
