Vinnies Centre Glenroy opens next door Glenroy’s Vinnies Centre will open on Thursday in a new location, right next door to the previous location on Pascoe Vale Road. Vinnies Centres State Manager, Tony Thornton, said “It’s been a big project to make the move, even though it’s right next door, so we’re thrilled to be settled in at the new location. The new building is almost three times the size of the old one – we had simply outgrown the other building”. Glenroy’s Vinnies Centre has been operating in the local community for 8 years, providing furniture, clothing and household goods to families and people who are in need and are being assisted by local conference members. Centre customers also include people looking for retro, unusual and fashionable items, bargain hunters and people on low incomes looking to make their dollar go a little further. Profits from the Centre are used to provide welfare in the local area by trained volunteers. “As we settle in at the larger Centre, we’re really keen to hear from people interested in volunteering with us. Our volunteers tell us what a rewarding experience it is to contribute to their local community, and it’s a great way to make new friends too” said Thornton. To find out more about volunteering or to arrange for furniture and large items to be collected, call the Centre on 9300 3276. The Centre is located at 826 Pascoe Vale Road.
