Dear Principal, The St Vincent De Paul Society (SA) Inc. recognises the good works of young people across the state and invites you to nominate leaders or groups of young people from your school in one of the four categories in the 2nd Vinnies Social Justice Awards 2010. Emmanuel Bailly Award (Group nominations - for service to the community and taking action) Rosalie Rendu Award (Outstanding Service - to an individual taking action) Blessed Frederic Ozanam Award (Outstanding Leadership and Service Promoting Social Justice) St Louise de Marillac Award (Post-Secondary Leadership and Service – Advocating Social Justice) (1830 years of age) Our 2nd Annual Vinnies Social Justice Awards 2010 celebrates the achievements and generosity of students who serve others in the community. It is also a chance to acknowledge the support given by families, schools and other community organisations at the local, regional and state level. We invite every school across the state, from all sectors, to be part of this programme and help us build a sustainable community founded on the principles of social justice, deeply embedded in our common humanity. We proudly announce for the first time that a Vinnies Social Justice Awards Ambassador will be chosen from the post-secondary nominations. The awards are non-competitive and non-denominational, and all nominations will be ratified by the Awards Committees. Our brochure provides you with examples and inspiration from last year’s event. The Inaugural Vinnies Social Justice Awards were a wonderful success, where over two hundred young people received individual or group awards. This year’s Awardees, their guests and community leaders will be invited to attend the 2nd Annual Vinnies Social Justice Awards to be held at Nazareth House on Wednesday 1st September 2010. Please complete your nomination and nominee forms, make a copy for yourself, and then return both forms to me by 30 June 2010. Nominations open 1 May and close 30 June 2010. For more information about the Society and the Social Justice Awards, please visit our website http://www.vinnies.org.au/vinnies-social-justice-awards-sa or contact me with any enquiries you have. Yours sincerely
