Vinnies Centre Mornington unveils new look Mornington’s Vinnies Centre will reopen on Wednesday following a fire that destroyed the original building two years ago. Centre Manager, Michelle Crozier, said “We’re thrilled to be open again. It’s been a long road so reopening and welcoming back our loyal customers and donors is exciting. We’ve taken the opportunity to create something bigger and better, rather than just rebuild what we had before, so I think people will be really impressed when they come in.” Prior to the fire, the Mornington Vinnies Centre had been operating in the local community for more than 30 years, providing furniture, clothing and household goods to families and people who are in need and are being assisted by local conference members. Centre customers also include people looking for retro, unusual and fashionable items, bargain hunters and people on low incomes looking to make their dollar go a little further. “As we re-establish ourselves, we’re really keen to hear from people interested in volunteering at the Centre. And of course donations of good quality items are always needed too” said Crozier. Donations should be taken to the Centre during opening hours. To find out more about volunteering or to arrange for furniture and large items to be collected, phone Michelle on 5975 4166. The Centre is located at 184 Main Street, Mornington.
