John Jeremy Doyle AC QC John Jeremy Doyle AC QC (born 1945), is the current Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of South Australia, which is the highest ranking court in the State of South Australia. Chief Justice Doyle was educated at Saint Ignatius College, South Australia and was Dux of the College in 1962. He went on to graduate in law from the University of Adelaide in 1966 and was awarded a Rhodes Scholarship in 1967, completing his studies in law at Magdalen College, Oxford in 1969. The following year, 1970, he was admitted to the Bar. Before being elevated to the position of Chief Justice in 1995, John Doyle served for nine years as the Solicitor General for South Australia where he was highly regarded for his skills as an advocate, particularly in complex Constitutional cases. He was a founding member of Hanson Chambers in 1977 where he practised as a barrister from 1976 until 1995. Prior to his move to the independent bar, he was a partner at Adelaide law firm, Kelly & Co.

St Vincent de Paul Foundation Ozanam Oration Chief Justice John Doyle AC QC This year marks the 11th Ozanam Oration for South Australia, a year where the Foundation is embarking on exciting new perspectives that compliment its past “good works”. Firstly, this year’s Ozanam Oration has a new breakfast format. We hope you enjoy the change! Secondly, in this day and age, the issue of law and justice is never far from each of us whether we are in Guantanamo Bay, Iraq, Bali, Adelaide or the Australian outback.
