ST VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY WELCOMES NEW CEO State President Clément Astruc has announced and welcomed the appointment of Mr John Bouffler as the new Chief Executive Officer of the St Vincent de Paul Society in Western Australia. Mr Bouffler commenced his new role with the Society on February 1, 2010 after previously holding a senior management role with National Australia Bank. Mr Bouffler comes to the Society highly qualified with over 20 years experience in the corporate banking and finance sector. State President Clément Astruc says Mr Bouffler’s proven management skills, strong finance background and his passion for the community sector will greatly benefit the Society to ensure its obligations to the people it assists, its donors and its members, volunteers and staff are met. Part of Mr Bouffler’s vision for the Society is to continue to grow support services to increase service delivery to those in need. “The Society has a key role in Western Australia in connecting with those who need a hand up,” he says. “Through effective communication, policy development and strategic planning, I aim to develop ongoing and beneficial relationships with the people the Society assists, our donors, the government and media, the corporate and community sectors and our dedicated members, volunteers and staff,” Mr Bouffler says. Mr Bouffler brings with him a long involvement in the community sector through volunteering in various community organisations including Lifeline, Camp Quality and John XXIII College. “I have always had the desire to assist people. I have been actively involved in community services for over 30 years which has provided me with the opportunity to combine my professional skills with my passion for helping people in need,” Mr Bouffler says. Mr Bouffler comes to the St Vincent de Paul Society with a range of experience and skills from previous roles with the National Australia Bank and Commonwealth Bank of Australia. He has lived and worked in Sydney, Rabaul (PNG) and New York.
