May 27, 2010 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CEOs pass the $500,000 mark … and there are still three weeks to go! Australia’s CEOs have already raised more than $500,000 towards the Vinnies 2010 CEO Sleepout to be held around the country on June 17. Over 400 CEOs have registered so far to take part in the event to raise awareness about homelessness. In Adelaide, we are planning on more than 100 Chief Executives and Company Directors sleeping out overnight at the Adelaide Zoo, in order to raise money for the homeless. More than 100,000 Australians are homeless and the number is expected to increase. This is our turn to raise the profile of this important issue and do something worthwhile for those less fortunate than ourselves. In Adelaide 46 CEOs have signed up so far raising over $44,000 – and we expect this to continue to grow! John Haren, CEO of St Vincent de Paul Society in SA - recently commented – “We are really encouraged by the support from leaders in a broad range of sectors in the community. It goes to show that homelessness touches the broader community in many ways. We are all part of the prevention of, and solution to, homelessness. In building a more inclusive community together we can address this serious issue”. To see the full list of participating CEOs, to register, or to sponsor a CEO log on to
