VOLUNTEER DONATION PICK-UP DRIVER NEEDED FOR LOCAL VINNIES The Vinnies Retail Centre located at 165 Boulder Road is seeking a volunteer to assist with the collection of donations from charity bins in the Kalgoorlie area.
The position recently became vacant following the retirement of local resident George Long who has fulfilled the role with much dedication and enthusiasm for over 3 years.
“I encourage the community to get involved in the work of Vinnies. I enjoyed the social aspect and the feeling that at the end of the day I was doing something good for the community,” George says.
Lucinda Ardagh, Media Spokesperson for the St Vincent de Paul Society WA is calling on the Kalgoorlie community to register their interest in the volunteer vacancy.
“We would love to speak to anyone interested in becoming a Volunteer Donation Pick-Up Driver for the Vinnies Centre in Kalgoorlie. The position is a great way for someone to put something meaningful back into the community and contribute in a positive way to helping others in need,” she says.
“George played an important part in the running of the Centre, and the Society would like to acknowledge the tireless manner in which he carried out this work and wish him all the best in the future,” Lucinda says.

Vinnies has had a presence in Kalgoorlie for more than 15 years providing the local community with a cheaper shopping alternative of good quality, pre-loved clothing and household goods. The Centre also serves as an outlet for welfare assistance.
