URBAN ART

Personal information: SKET185. Sven van Hermon

His whole life he has been busy with drawing and painting, he started with copying cartoons like Donald Duck but pretty soon he developed his own style. Later in 1984 he was drawn to this new art form called Graffiti. A Thursday night, back in 1985, at the parking lot behind the AH in Almelo, the spray-paint he and a friend stole earlier was jammed and didn’t work so they went back to that store and said that they lost their receipt. At the end they did get their spray-can so they could finish their first piece ever “BASIC” with dark brown fill in hahahaha but in those days they didn’t have the luxury to choose between 255 Montana Gold Colors. In 1992, he went to the Art Academy in Antwerp [Belgium] where he studied photography and meanwhile enjoyed the party/graffiti scene. After school he went back to Holland and ended up in The Hague. He worked there as a web designer for the government of the Netherlands called LEI. In 1996 he started doing graffiti workshops for the youth and kids in the neighbourhood, but he also gave classes for students and teachers like at the TU Delft. From there he went on doing festival decorations and making graffiti art for the music industry. Now Sket185 is working as a freelance designer and urban/graffiti artist. 1985 started painting graffiti 1988 first contact with photografy 1993 started study at the Art Acedemy in Antwerp 1996 started giving graffiti workshop 1999 first job as webdesigner/phtotographer/designer for the goverment 2005 first time freelance 2006 started as graphic designer for Belkin 2007 started as Sr webdesigner for RADIO538 2009 switched back to modern webdesign at Myspace 2010 got my own one man company MULTIMEDIA EXPRESS graffit - graffiti-art urban art design - webdesign photo - video
