The Leading Professional Association in the Solid Waste Industry Over 8,000 solid waste professionals across the United States, Canada and beyond have already discovered the Power of SWANA. With a mission to advance the practice of environmentally and economically sound management of municipal solid waste, SWANA provides education and networking opportunities to solid waste professionals in every facet of the industry, benefitting individual members while also furthering the work of the industry.

SWANA Chapters As a member, you’ll also become a member of one of SWANA’s 45 Chapters, helping you to connect with other solid waste professionals in meaningful ways to advance yourself both personally and professionally. Led by dedicated volunteers, each chapter works hard to keep their members informed on the latest issues and trends in their local industry. Many chapters have their own newsletters, host local tours and events, provide training opportunities and advise their elected officials on behalf of the profession as well as informal networking events such as golf outings and ROAD-E-O contests. Members Only Online Directory Easily find solid waste professionals through our Online Membership Directory, giving you the perfect opportunity to connect with members that share your interests. Members Only Information Members receive SWANA’s monthly newsletter, MSW Solutions, as well as MSW Management, SWANA’s official bi-monthly magazine. Members also receive access to the members’ only section of the SWANA website, which includes SWANA’s online collection of technical resources, the eLibrary.
