Come and join in our activities and workshops that are informative, creative and fun! Led by our learning team and artists, try your hand at painting, drawing, animation, sewing, printing and more!

We also offer seasonal and school holiday fun and family films. You can pick up a family trail to guide you around the galleries during your visit.

We run accessible classes for everyone including children and young people, families and adults.

Trefnir iddi gyd-fynd â chyfres olaf His Dark Materials, cyfres ddrama ffantasi ar y teledu sy’n seiliedig ar drioleg o nofelau â’r un teitl gan Philip Pullman, a gyhoeddwyd gan Bad Wolf a New Line Productions ar gyfer BBC One a HBO. Bydd yr arddangosfa’n arddangos creadigrwydd yng Nghymru - gan ddangos gwisgoedd, setiau a chipolwg y tu ôl i’r llenni ar sut mae pethau’n cael eu creu.

His Dark Materials: World Building in Wales

Saturday 02.12.22 - Sunday 03.09.23

Programmed to coincide with the last series of His Dark Materials, a fantasy drama television series based on the trilogy of novels of the same name by Philip Pullman, produced by Bad Wolf and New Line Productions, for BBC One and HBO. The exhibition will be a showcase of creativity in Wales – showing costumes, sets, and a behind the scenes look at how things are made.

Wakelin Award 2022, Ingrid Murphy

The annual award is given to an artist living and working in Wales, whose work is purchased for the Glynn Vivian Art Gallery’s Permanent Collection.

The recipient for The Wakelin Award 2022 is Ingrid Murphy. This year’s selector is Swansea based artist and lecturer, Catrin Webster. Supported by the Friends of the Glynn Vivian in memory of Richard and Rosemary Wakelin.

Bydd yr arddangosfa hon, a guradwyd gan Dr Ceri Thomas, yn dathlu dau guradur amser llawn cyntaf Glynn Vivian, David Bell (1915-1959) a Kathleen Armistead (1902-1971), a’u harweiniad arloesol o arddangosfeydd, casgliadau a rhaglenni caffael yr oriel yn y 1950au a’r 1960au.

Curated by Dr Ceri Thomas, this exhibition will celebrate the Glynn Vivian’s first two full-time curators, David Bell (1915-1959) and Kathleen Armistead (1902-1971) and their pioneering leadership of the gallery’s exhibitions, collections, and acquisitions programmes in the 1950s and 1960s.

Mae llawer o’r gwaith yn yr arddangosfa’n waith nas gwelwyd o’r blaen ac maent yn cynnwys paentiadau, darluniau, tecstilau a chrochenwaith.

On Animals: A selection of works from the gallery’s collection

Featuring works from over forty artists from the gallery’s permanent collection which explore our unique relationships with animals, including historical works as well as works by contemporary artists. Many of the works in the exhibition are previously unseen, and include painting, drawing, textiles, and ceramics.

Aildanio, 2022-23 Arts Prize Exhibition

Aildanio, the Disability Arts Cymru (DAC) Arts Prize exhibition features 26 pieces of work by disabled Wales-based artists. It’s a wonderful opportunity to experience cutting edge and provoking visual artwork from some of Wales’ best artists. BSLI and audio descriptions are embedded into the exhibition programme.
