10 LIGHTING IN CULTURE Lighting for Durer museum, Milano. The concept was to use the combination of color temperatures to achieve discreet but accurate lighting effects. The CCT 4000k light was used for framing artwork composition and to highlight the bottom of panels. Whereas, the CCT 3500k was used for framing individual artwork while it provides the highest available CRI.

12 LIGHTING IN URBAN EXTERIORS Due to its age, Ponte di Cuggiono is regarded as a historical monument. Placing of fixtures and luminaires in direct contact with the bridge is, to this day, strictly prohibited. The challenge of this project was to locate areas on the site that allowed for the bridge to be lit as effectively as possible without directly touching the structure itself. The concept immediately embraced the nature of the location. The historical significance not only of the bridge but also of the landscape that surrounds it. A testament to the fertility of the region and an ode to the vital role that water, flowing to this day through Cuggiono, played in the formation of the town. It was decided that the water would not be hidden from the project. Rather, it was to become a living and active component of the lighting project. The contrast was an important aspect of the project. Giving the bridge a dramatic effect would ensure an imposing look that complements its ancient and historical nature.

14 LIGHTING IN SHOW The live concerts for Coldplay have a lot of colorful elements and graphics including balloons, fireworks, displays, lasers creating a very bright and happy atmosphere. On the other hand, The chainsmokers usually have a monochromatic lighting setup with rapid movements in the lighting. The lighting usually involves Cyan color theme in most case studies. Therefore, the overall concept was to be able to combine both themes and being able to inculcate the song theme into it.

For the stage layout, according to the theme of the song, it was important to be able to create a space where you have a feeling of being on top of the world, dreamy setup. Hence we tried to bring in the concept of city lights, to achieve a sentiment of being on top of a skyscraper and being able to see the rest of the city skyline. With this, we could also use it to our advantage to create various rapid light scenes with each apartment lights turning on.

20 LIGHTING IN HOSPITALITY Keeping in mind the location of the Mota -Alp wellness hotel, the ski resort majorly attracts tourists looking forward to relaxing in the four-star ski resort. To create a relaxing environment along with functionality for the rooms became the aim of our concept. Relaxing in a challenging world is becoming an important part of a positive attitude towards life. To integrate the requirements of the guest who require enough light and the wish of the hotelier who desires low energy costs. We decided to create a custom-made luminaire to meet the aesthetic and lowcost requirements of the design. The intervention involved the use of an expanded aluminum sheet, oxidized and painted, bent into a cylindrical shape, with a natural brass metal sheet bent around it, to shape and screen the light. The aluminum disks sandwiched with a cylindrical aluminum mesh that acts as heat sink ensuring that barely any warmth is emitted from the light source.

We chose LED with an integral 2.7 watt LED chipboard located behind a frosted diffuser in order to give soft light with no glare. LED luminaires for decorative light LED light sources are particularly useful for creating dynamic lighting solutions because LEDs are easy to dim and switch. Color-changing dynamic sequences are also very easily implemented because of the functionality of LEDs. Their extremely compact dimensions make them designers’ and lighting designers’ light source of choice.
