Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) celebrated the spirit of womanhood on International Women’s Day through nationwide festivities! 1200 female riders felicitated at Honda’s 8 traffic parks across India Festivities were in full-power at all of Honda’s 8 Traffic Training Parks in Chandigarh, Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Nashik, Hyderabad and two in Delhi. 1200+ women riders, who had learnt the subtle art of riding bikes in these parks, were felicitated on on Tuesday (Woman's Day). 'Dream Riding' – Honda exclusive women empowerment initiative, was responsible for imparting practical & theoretical riding training at these traffic-parks to the women, over last 3-years.
Honda signed an MoU with Ludhiana Municipal Corporation for Traffic Training Park. Now it has a total of 9 training parks across the country. Further, Honda’s social empowerment initiative ‘Dream riding’ is a unique platform where women can learn how to ride two-wheelers in the span of a single day from well-trained Honda female instructors through a specially tailored 4-hour plan. Aspiring women riders from Delhi, Jaipur or Chandigarh, above 18 years of age, can apply online by dropping a mail with their details to any of the following e-mail ids: DELHI- dreamriding@ttpdelhi.in JAIPUR- dreamriding@ttpjpr.in CHANDIGARH- dreamriding@ctpchandigarh.in A ‘Nationwide Safety Pledge Drive’ was also organized by Honda where they installed Pledge Flexes at the premises of all its manufacturing plants, corporate offices, dealerships, secondary networks, authorized spare & service outlets and at the stockists; drawing an enthusiastic response from their esteemed customers. Training & seminars on Road Safety, engagement activities like “Road Safety Quiz”, “Safety Slogan competition”, were also conducted to keep women riders occupied.
Endowing 450 women with livelihood training Honda is empowering females through its two Vocational Training-cum-Livelihood Centres at Gurgaon (CRPF Campus, Kadarpur) and Gujarat (Bahucharaji, Mandal taluka). Through a professional set-up with good infrastructure & Honda's support, 450+ females have managed to develop their vocational skills & other skills such as- Tailoring, Beautician skills, Soft toys making, Agarbatti & Candle making etc. This 2 month course has a mix of practical learning and theoretical knowledge, which upon completion will lead to the women being awarded a certificate by National Skills Development Council (NSDC).The Vocational Training-cum-Livelihood Centre is 100% women friendly, with female only staff. Honda is providing all the necessary aid including books and training material. Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Yadvinder S.
