We are beginning again a project we have not done in 25 years!

The Indian Wells Valley Airport District Special Events Committee and The Swap Sheet will create and pay for a cookbook which we will sell for a nominal cost.

Monies collected will be shared by all the participating schools on an equal basis.

When we did it 25 years ago the kids wrote, told and drew recipies that were their favorite foods and we asked the teachers that it be “in their own words”. They were pretty funny . Did you know it takes “a mile and tsp of cheese to make “macroni and chez”?

WE ARE ASKING FOR RECIPIES FROM 6TH GRADERS AND YOUNGER and asking for teachers and staff for their favorite recipies too!

The pilots, Inyokern Airport staff and volunteers will be sharing their favorites too. Char Spenser’s baked beans are world famous and will be a honored collectable!

cup seedless raspberry jam

tablesppon sliced almonds In a small bowl, beat cream cheese and 1/4 cup confectioners' sugar until smooth. Unroll crescent dough and separate into 4 rectangles; seal perforations. Cut each rectangle in half, making 8 squares. Top with sliced almonds. Transfer squares to a parchment-lined baking sheet. Spread 1 tablespoon cream cheese mixture diagonally across each square. Top with 1 tablespoon jam. Bring 2 opposite corners of dough over filling; pinch together firmly to seal. Bake at 375° for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
